I agree. And it's the same in the Advanced Tactics Gold forum.

Nope.

A red 'new page' icon means unread. Blue and grey seem reserved for hot/not hot topics, just like the old forum.

It's been mentioned several times that the old PMs will return, the migration hasn't happened yet but is happening very soon.

Kull wrote: Fri Feb 25, 2022 9:53 pm Thanks for pointing that out tolsdorff. I have a LOT of files posted for download, so hopefully this issue can be fixed soon.

In addition, is Matrix going to fix the way the forum is displaying links embedded in text? As an example, just look at the three in my signature. Having to manually fix a few links in a signature is one thing, but I have literally 100s of embedded links in threads such as Japanese Ships – Colors & Camouflage (here's the link to that thread: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... p?t=339736. Having to manually repair that entire thread...and all the others? Well...let's hope not.

Note: The "link button" doesn't work either. All it does is stick "url" tags around your text, which is kind of useless since it doesn't then allow you to add the actual url. The entire process of creating the embedded links is completely opaque.
These should be fixed now!

With the old forum I rarely logged in. Nonetheless when I looked at a topic it would then show that I had read it. Now I have to login, click on the topic and then go back and refresh my screen for the topic to be shown as read. I am sure there is a reason for the change, but the old way was much more convenient.

Not perfect, sure, but I would like to point out an improvement. On the old forum, for reasons unknown, many many times clicking on the 'go to first unread post' button/link would take me to an older link. Sometimes a given thread would remain that way (where I would be taken to the same older post) for weeks or months. It's like the forum just lost track of how far I had read in certain threads.

In the new forum, so far clicking on the symbol to go to first unread post is spot on every time! 👍

Thanks Erik! As an "embedded link aficionado", that was an important issue for me. That said, the "link button" still doesn't work as it used to:

Before: Highlight text, click link button, window appears, add the url in the window, click "OK", url embeds in the highlighted text. Result? A working link.

Now: Highlight text, click link button, url tags surround the highlighted text. End. To clarify, that is NOT an "embedded link". You have what appears to be a url, except it doesn't work....it's just text. Actually embedding a link into that text is entirely a manual typing effort.

Is that going to be fixed?

Any way to change the forum color from the default blue? Hugely not a fan of it.

Sorry if this has been brought up, but is there a way to search new dev posts?

What's with new users showing their email addresses as poster names instead of their handles? Has this been reported already?
