STATE OF THE WAR-MONTH RESUME

Southwest Pacific Front
-After the disembarkment over P.Moresby, the allies continue send convoy with supplies across the Coral Sea from Townsville to support the Marines. The japanese attack those ships from Lae, Rabaul and P.Moresby and cause heavy naval losses in APs and DDs.
-The allies try to inutilize the P.Moresby airstrip bombard the base from Cairns with the B17E and B24D. The 8th, a allied surface group bombard the base without oposition. The japanese continue however flying from the airstrip, but the number of planes available never reach the dozen.
-On land, the marines launch an assault over the japanese defenses the 9th with 38.000 troops but the defenders win the toss and the offensive colapses.
-The 13th the base is again bombard with heavy ships that destroy 14 planes and cause 2.100 casualties. The japanese, however, resist.
-The 18th, the second phase of the P.Moresby operation starts. A surface group bombard Thursday Island and disembark the 5th Australian division. The base is only defended by a thousand of nipons from a guard unit and the allies take the base the 26th. The allies loss some transports and destroyers in this operation in air attacks from Lae.

Burma/India Front
-The front continue between Calcutta and Asansol, with a total stalemate. The japanese launch a aerial offensive over Calcutta and D.Harbour to destroy the air british support in India but the japanese losses are dramatic day by day.
-The first week of april the japanese transport the 35th brigade from Rangoon to Chandpur with the support of CVs Soryu and Hiryu. From China arrives the 21th infantry division and the 24th, finally, the japanese launch a definitive offensive with their 150.000 men. The british stop the japanese with heavy casualties but the defenses are virtually destroyed and the RAF traslate the planes to Asansol and Yanam. The loss of Calcutta seems very probable.

I saw you received the CV Amagi in April 1943. You probably accelerate it at the start of the game. I will be interested to know if she arrives with planes aboard, and wich ones ? She is scheduled to have Judies and Jills, both types that are not available yet...

YES and YES.
I have accelerated the three first Unryus from start. When those ships arrives i have a "little" problem with them. The carriers arrive with three air groups; one with A6M5, another with D4Y and the last with B6N. For historical purposes traslate those groups to Tokyo until the planes are REALLY available and the air groups from my sunk carriers (Kaga, Junyo and Hosho) take your place.

Anyway, in case of air/naval battle, the risk to deplete those air groups (because no remplacements) is very likely.

Thanks for the answer.

With v1.5 it should now be possible to downgrade these units if you want to.

STATE OF THE WAR-MONTH RESUME

Southwest Pacific Front
-The first weeks the allies continue the air strikes against P.Moresby airstrip. The massive formations of B-17E and B24D inutilize the japanese base. 96 B17E (5th and 19th BG) and 96 B24D (7th and 307 BG) flying diary missions against the japanese base.
-However, the japanese base at Lae, far away to allied bombers, continue the air attacks in Coral Sea against the american and australian shipping with great succees and many AKs are sunk while trying to supply Thursday island and P.Moresby siege.
-The 7th the 2nd Marines division launch a limited offensive to probe the japanese defenses around P.Moresby. The attack is succesful and the japanese perimeter is seriously damaged.
-The japanese send a supply convoy to P.Moresby from Rabaul. The allies attack this naval force from Cooktown the 10th and following days with Aussie Beauforts and Mitchells escorted by the P-38G (347th FG) and many auxiliary ships are sunk, inclosed the DD Yugure, split in two by eight direct hits.
-The 13th the last japanese defenders of Thursday island surrenders. 1.600 nipons going to prisioner champs.
-The 16th, a allied surface group with battleships Maryland, Colorado, Idaho and New Mexico, four cruisers and ten destroyers bombard again japanese positions in P.Moresby. The night attack causes 2.007 casualties on land. The allies return to Townsville without damage.
-The 27th the marines around P.Moresby start the definitive offensive to take the base. In a first assault the japanese loss 808 men and 375 the marines. The 28th P.Moresby is taken and the japanese forces are forced to retreating to Buna.

Burma/India Front
-The front continue again between Calcutta and Asansol, with a total stalemate. Calcutta resist to all odds with your 79.000 defenders against the 180.000 japanese.
-The japanese try to destroy the defenders with continous air strikes over Calcutta and D.Harbour but the british fighters shot down dozens of bombers. The losses of Ki-48 is so high that the japanese decide retire the aircraft from operational use in this theatre.
-In three land offensives against Calcutta the japanese loss 18.000 men. Moreover, the continue offensive menace to empty the supplies on Chandpur and the japanese must send supply convoys from Rangoon. Those ships suffer air attacks from D.Harbour and many APs and AKs are so heavy damaged that must stay on Chandpur and can't return to Rangoon.

STATE OF THE WAR-MONTH RESUME

Southwest Pacific Front
-With the fall of Port Moresby last month, the allies base a lot of air groups in that base after the necesary reparations. First arrive the 49th FG with their new planes, the P38G. Some days after the VMF-221 from Townsville and last the 12th BG with B-25J in anti shipping missions. However, the japanese defeated troops reach Buna and the following days transport those troops to Lae, inclosed some air support units from IJA and IJN. In consequence the japanese airstrip at Lae receive many daitais of fighters from Truk, Rabaul and Wewak.
-The allies try to damage Lae and launch many air strikes from Cooktown with B-24D but the air losses are very high.
-The air war rises day by day and the allied air attacks from P.Moresby against Buna and Lae, besides the japanese air attacks from those bases against P.Moresby provoke heavy losses to both sides. In the dogfights, however, the japanese are the winners in most combats. The allied groups are yet some green.

South Pacific Front
-With the allies without a single CV operational (the only is Yorktown repair heavy damage on PH) and the japanese CVs upgrade systems and planes on Truk and Tokyo, the activity in this zone was very sparse in June.
-The japanese form some convoys to supply forward bases like Lunga, Tarawa and Vella Lavella without allied intervention. By your side, the allies transport a huge number of air groups, troops and material to Noumea, Townsville and PH, waiting the CVs reinforcement.

Burma/India Front
-In spite the japanese are in great number (around 200.000 troops) in the Calcutta front, the british and indian troops, with their fortifications reduced to zero, resist against the odds the massive japanese offensives with air support.
