Guys
This game is on hold for a short while as Terminus is experiencing technical problems with his computer. Hopefully we will be back very soon.

RE: War Report - 8th of July, 1922
I'm back. Game will resume later today...
As in, now!
Submarine action continues off Singapore and Batan Island. IJN Submarine no.32 attempted an attack on enemy ASW ships at Singapore, and got two depth charge hits for her trouble. These resulted in a staggering 5 sys and 2 flt damage! Oooh, scary![:D]
The Battle of Manilla rages on. Today, our brave troops finally cracked the enemy's inner defensive cordon, ejecting him from his fixed fortifications. We shall soon see the mettle of our enemy's pasture!

(PS: This image is from the IWM. I manicured it a bit to fit into the AAR, but this should in no way be construed as copyright infringement).

RE: War Report - 9th of July, 1922
Nothing of note to report today. We continued the prosecution of US submarine S-7 at Batan Island, and managed at least two solid hits on her. Unfortunately, no lifejackets stamped "USN" floated to the surface.
In Manilla, vicious street fighting continued to claim the lives of many soldiers on both sides, as the enemy was flushed from rathole after rathole. Casuaties remain high, but are becoming less lopsided. (No more 5000 to 4!)

RE: War Report - 10th of July, 1922
An old enemy popped up again today in the form of the disappeared Chinese cruisers. They were found at Legaspi (of all places); unfortunately the ones who found them were a quartet of unescorted Japanese transport ships. The results can be gleaned from the screenie. I'd forgotten all about those bastages![:@]
(All things considered, I got off lightly. The Chinese won't...)

The next phase of the battle for Mindanao began today, with Imperial Army troops attacking Philippino positions at Cagayan. In Manilla, Japanese aircraft made an appearance for the first time today, bombing enemy positions. It didn't make much difference, but every little bit counts...

RE: War Report - 13th of July, 1922
Philippino troops at Cagayan offered up surprisingly heavy resistance today. Might have something to do with the fact that they've had more than a week to fortify and rest up, while my troops have marched across the length and breadth of Mindanao.
At Manilla, my planes came back for another go today, and this time they actually hit something! Nobody was more surprised than me.[X(][:D]

RE: War Report - 14th of July, 1922
Actions on several fronts today. About 100 miles east of Luzon, Imperial ASW forces engaged US submarine S-3. Surprise, surprise, inconclusive results. But hey, at least he's not shooting.
On Mindanao, our artillery laid another barrage on enemy positions at Cagayan, whilst further east, more troops were landed at Butuan, to slam shut the door on any retreat. It won't be long now.
In Manilla, the 2nd Fighter Daitai has been instructed to stop showing off for a little while. During today's air raid on an American artillery position, two Sopwith Pups were shot down, and 4 others damaged. They'll take it easy for a few days. Additionally, our artillery caused another day's worth of heavy casualties to the enemy in Manilla.

RE: War Report - 15th of July, 1922
Imperial forces landed at Legaspi today, with similar purpose to the earlier landings at Butuan. In spite of an attempted intercept by a US submarine (which got a bundle of depth charges for its trouble), the landing went ahead with negligible casualties.
According to intelligence, an enemy transport struck one of our recently-laid mines at Midway. Keep it up, malodorous Westerners! [:'(]

RE: War Report - 16th of July, 1922
The campaign on Mindanao has reached its end, with the fall of Butuan and the subsequent surrender of the Phillipino and US forces at Cagayan. An estimated 6,000 POW's are now in our hands.
On Luzon, Imperial forces took control of Legaspi.
At Takao, an opportunistic US submarine attempted an attack on Japanese shipping, but her captain lacked the fortitude to press it home, and our destroyers drove off the enemy pirates.
