Was curious...has anyone noted if any leaders gone *poof* yet in 1.8 to be replaced by some faceless warrant officer or a turncoat from the other side? [:)]

I think we need wait for people to start new games under 1.8. No way of telling if missing leaders in games upgraded midway are just a left over from prior to the patch.
This game does not have a learning curve. It has a learning cliff.

Hey, he didn't actually say you were wrong, he just said you are bitter that the rest of the world is wrong [:'(]
As Mrs. Jones said as she watched from the reviewing stand while her son's basic training platoon marched by, "Oh, my, look there, everybody's out of step but my Johnny!"

Or, as Yossarian said when asked, "What if everyone thought the same way you do?" "Then I'd be a d@mned fool to think any different, wouldn't I?"

And 1.8 is working like a champ so far ... I am monitoring six games (all are sc 15 campaigns, all original vanilla - playing in two of them) and there have as yet been no odd leader thingies or disappearing this-and-that going on (the most advanced game is now coming up on Christmas '41).
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

Greetings everyone:

I was SO distressed to get so far along in this thread, only to learn it had SO LITTLE to do with a 1.8 patch for WiTP.

So, have a bit of compassion for us wannabe WiTPers. Is a new 1.8 patch out now, and is there some opinion as to how it's working?

Gratefully,

Odox

Silly you, they could have got into beer discussions again. I don't think I've ever been to any forum that so many times gets off into suds. It don't help matters that the threads don't have any blasted bullets to show what threads you've commented on, anymore.

I hope this hasn't been mentioned already. I've only skim read this thread. I've not played WITP for a few weeks now, I decided to take a rest from it as it does tend to take over your life somewhat.

Anyhow, I'm at work in my dinner hour and decided to visit the forum and find that 1.8 is out. Being at work I didn't think I'd be able to download the patch as previously I needed to log in to the download section. But this time no log in required, downloaded to desktop no problem. It was much easier than my previous downloads- I can never remember my password. Just need to burn to disc and take the patch home. I may fire up my save game this weekend. [:)]

This is maybe a bit late.

I reinstalled WITP a couple of weeks back, now that the 1.8 patch has been released. I just wanted to say a big thank you to matrix games for producing this game in the first place and the work they keep doing to improve it. I had forgotten just how HUGE the scope of this game is.

Freddy, you can download the patch without your serial number, but I think you'll need your serial number to install the patch. It's pretty easy to retrieve your serial number from Digital River. I also keep mine written down in a couple places.

What the heck is Atlantida? Do you mean Atlantis? If so it is a myth probably based upon the Cretan civilization (so called palace-civ) which was destroyed around 12 century BC by the enormous volcano eruption on the island of Santorini (also a Cretan center).

If you talk about degrees I am about to get my first at the age 34+ from -guess what- history.

Theres some suggestions Atlantis was where
the Bahamas are now... there have been areas that have submerged, Lemuria might been the area where Indonesian islands are which was shallow, think of how low the seas were just before End of Ice age
and its possiable some areas where theres now islands actually had more land area...

Lots of Possiabilities...
