-The good ones...KB and LBA destroyed an entire enemy convoy South of Singapore
-The bad ones: The convoy was able to deliver its payload to the starving Singaporean garrison. Question is: how did they evade our Nells?????

The Oscars can be upgraded to the Tojo (if PDU on), this is the next available Army fighter. Also the Oscar II should come around at the same time (late 42). Got a game going under the same mod and sadly have to say that the Tojo seems not as good as I thought (in comparison to stock). My Zeroes (exp. 75+) shoot down Hurris in droves and though my Tojos should be the better planes and better pilots (exp. 80+) are exchanging kills with the same Hurris in a 1:1 ratio [&:][&:]. The Tojo is overall better than the A6M2, only it´s not as maneuverable which seems very important. Up to now I was always told that speed is the most important thing and man. isn´t as important as you might think.

In my case the Tojo is far faster than the Zero but it´s far inferior in battle even if flown by pilots that are 5-10 points more experienced then the Zero pilots...[:(]

The Oscar II is worth nothing as it only has an armament rating of 6 (Oscar I has 5) and therefore isn´t able to shoot down the armored Allied fighters. I think Nik overdid it here, as my Oscars have to damage 40 enemy fighters before they shoot down a single one.

Unfortunately I have to say that for me the versions 5.x were better than the last version of the mod...

I agree with you that v5.x are better than the v8.0, but Nik is the right way to decrease air combat bloodiness. What is needed is to keep the improved Oscars from v5.x and the smaller losses of v8.0. Maybe it´s hard to achieve, but Nik has been able to fix some serious troubles with the WiTP engine.
On Tojo, don´t forget that since v5.3 the Tojo was significantly downgraded (1 less armor and 2 less maneuver points). The Ki-44 of v.5.3 was a wonder plane at least in defensive operations. I achieved a 5:1 kill rate in my game vs Nik, against P-40´s and Hurricanes. It seems ok to downgrade the Tojo, but the Ki-61 should be restored to its historical arrival date (early 43)

-In a bizarre day, KB sailed to a few miles from Palembang, in order to cover a naval bombardment that never happened. Instead, the Japanese surface TF lost two days fighting to a draw with PT boats. It´s not clear why the surface force didn´t bombard nothing and the KB reached Palembang shores. Even harder to understand is why the enemy forces failed to attack KB with every disposable aircraft. It´s seems that a few officers will have to give s few explanations both in Saigon and Soerabaja....

-Enemy carriers stayed close to Palau and launched massive raids on port facilities, sinking 4 minor ships, however, our AA defenses made them pay a heavy price by shooting down 54 enemy bombers, the enemy air groups are now sigificantly depleted. In related news Yamamoto argued to the Emperor that, Palau being a level 3 base, the release of a few Betties would be useless as the planes wouldn´t be able to carry torpedoes
