We lost USS Lassen during a Jap bombardment of Noumea. Mauna Loa not go boom yet but still burning.

Pyro is nearby.

We have 4 AK or AG at Pearl which are convertible to AKE/AE

We have 5 at Suva that are capable of conversion but would probably have to go Auckland because Suva is not big enough.

The thing is it is only March 1, 1942. I don't remember seeing this many USN BB's in action in the South Pacific in February 42 in any other AAR. Normally, most of the USN BB's are badly misshapen at this point or they are being saved for bombardment missions in 1944

If the Allied player has a heads up awareness of this and starts the conversions immediately he can quickly have more ammunition ships available than locales they can be used at.

A player without a heads up awareness will likely have these valuable ships hauling supplies.

Funny. As the Japanese player, I've got more 'convertible' xAKs than I can shake a stick at. I couldn't possibly hope to use all of them.

It seems as though scarcity could provide market forces for a supplier that isn't afraid of living in the grey zone between empires...

Does it seem odd to you that a ship hauling tons of high explosive ammunition is called the "Pyro"? Must really instill confidence in the damage control teams......

Northern Oz: JJ was known to be landing at Koeapang. Our recon was a bit spotty. A supply convoy for Darwin turned around yesterday with a "retreating from surface threat"
message. Some staff hack thought that JJ was still at Koepang and they were being sissy-boys so the retreat was countermanded........

Sad but true story. A co-worker grew up in Idaho. His brother came down so he took him to the Alamo. Brothers comment: " I didn't know we lost that battle".

Where do you find cheese doodles?

Air losses. We lose some fighters trying to get air superiority over Koumac and trying to defend Sydney from port attack. We did shoot down a few Nells over Sydney.

We spotted either a carrier division or perhaps some CVL's yesterday off Rockhampton but they are unspotted today. No sign of the rest of the KB either.

3200 men of 164th IR disembarking at Noumea today under the cover of 2 BB's and some PT boats.

Noumea is level 4.15 and building fast and now has some dive bombers and B-26's and the first B-25's in theater.

Koumac has 24 Zeroes so we send a CL-led bombardment group tonight.

Mauna Loa finally sank. USS Lassen is 2 days out from Tanna which will become the rearm station. Once we can shuttle in BB bombardment taffys to N&IC, JJ will be in a world of hurt.

They need to do something pretty fast or they will have 2 divisions running out of fish-head soup.
