I think he will not, but must allow him to make an error and be destroyed. Denying him that opportunity would be unfair!

The OBB's are too slow. They must be in place and sprint out to engage. I'm going to bring out oilers to refuel the fleet while the transport convoys refuel at Pearl, then the fleet can move forward again. Ideal would be the KN retires to Truk to refuel in time to allow the invasions. But, how often do things happen that good?

Charge!
- KB used a bunch of torpedoes.
- KB is using fuel.
- I know where KB is.
- Most of my subs are between KB and Truk.
- A few S-boats are already on the way to add more patrols between KB and Wake.

As mentioned, the oilers are sailing from Pearl to refuel the fleet and the invasion convoys will refuel at Pearl. The KB can refuel at Truk or with their oilers sailing through a sea of USN subs. I have enough subs to spot KB heading back to Truk, and the timing might be god enough to move the invasion convoys and fleet forward again.

Sun Tzu states you should attack an enemy when he is about to retire after he has conducted his operation, for some of the points you already mentioned, low on fuel, low on torpedoes, low on sorties and air units worn down from 3 days of flight operations. I know you have n't fueled your carriers but if the tankers are closing in maybe paring down to the most important vessels and giving them the lion's share of the fuel then sprinting in to attack his retiring carriers might be worth the risk.

The OBB's are simply too slow to make that sprint, so I would be doing so with far less strength. Also, to hit KB at or near the present spot requires that KB pretty much stay put this turn, unlikely I think.

I agree fuel is OK at the moment for such a strike. Refueling is meant to allow an advance without further retirement so I can quickly take advantage of any KB withdrawal.

What do you need slow battleships for in a CV Clash. You will never get close enough to have the big girls fight.

It's not a CV clash I seek, it's a total fleet engagement!

The notion is as the invasions are underway the carriers and gunboats are in front where the gun boats fly forward as the IJN carriers close the range on our carriers. The OBB's will use the IJN fleet's own movement to aid it's own.

Do you check your fleets in this ambush group for detection daily? Every notice a 1 dl and no enemy subs present?
