Your research is based on appeals to a higher power? Not terribly academic. [:'(]
Oh yes it is. I swung my rubber chicken three times around my head. If that isn't academic surety, I don't know what is. [:'(]

There's your problem right there. You have to swing the bleeding headless corpse of a real chicken for it to work. And it does....the blood on my walls clearly indicate that it is an Extra Monday.

I used to work there and was suprized that they chose Demarest of all places for the pilot program. It is the last place I would expect students of opposite sexes to live together if you get my drift. It was full of artists and hippie types and you old time Threadians know my love of hippies.

Meh ... not you too ... guess I have to let go of my innate tactfulness ([;)]) to tell both you and the Chickendude that using live chickens is soooo 20th century - you have to keep yourself a jour with the technological development.

So, rubber chicken says no Extra Monday. [;)][:'(]

Nik, you have to let go of history. Rubber Rats belong in the 19th century.

Ah, but in that instance you are correct, as long as they are Taiwanese motherboards.

Could someone explain to me why a person, even drunk as a skunk, is arrested for being a passenger in a vehicle driven by someone else. [&:]
Violation of a court order to avoid alcohol as terms of one's probation? [&:]

Not that I keep up on the troubles of the rich and wasted but I dont recall that she was in any kind of similar episode recently.
part of the article:
"The law allows deputies to detain intoxicated people for their own welfare until they sober up but there is no intention to prosecute them, he said.

"You're sitting in a car drunk. You have every legal right to be there but when we come across you we say you can't drive and we're not going to put you on the sidewalk," he explained.

Aguilera won't be charged with a crime, although the misdemeanor arrest will remain on her record, Whitmore said. "Technically it's an arrest, but from the very beginning there was never an intention to prosecute," he said. "

EDIT: Whoops - already beaten to it. [:o]

apparently, those that we hire to "protect and serve" are also there to save us from ourselves..."arrest" seems like the wrong term, but may be legally correct...

'Aguilera was arrested because she appeared too drunk to care for herself and had no driver to take her home, McSweeney said.

The city might be liable if she's abducted, raped, murdered or parcelled out for parts. By calling a cab the cop is basically deputizing an unknown individual to provide care and transport for an individual without capacity.

Man, I looked at what it says to avoid. They basically say to become a rabbit. [8|]

I'd go for treatment rather than prevention if it were me. [;)]
