Was that her in the too tight uniform with her breastesses popping out? She could be a very succesful waitress if the Dive Officer thing doesn't work out..

It's too bad, but I think she will be successful as a Dive Officer. Can you imagine any seaman resisting her when she orders them to "go down"?

By all accounts she was very good at her job.

Name that carrier!

Post by Cap Mandrake »

The management wishes to announce a contest to name the new Essex class arriving in Panama in 3d. Her working name is "Yorktown II" but this is stupid because Yorktown is somehow still afloat.

The winner will receive a buy 1 get 1 coupon for the very popular Caliofornia roll at Milo's Brestaurant and Sushi Bar in Karenko, Formosa (transportation not provided).

Rules:

--You cannot enter if you are an emoployee of M&M Enterprises or its subsidiaries.

--Racist or sexist names are not permitted in keeping with the high-brow nature of the AAR...oh..never mind.

--Homophobic names are permitted if they are funny (like "USS Queerbarge") because homphobia hasn't been discovered yet in 1943.

--No Japanese names either. Too confusing.

USS Perineum

In addition to the advantages of being difficult for your opponents to pronounce there are the following reasons –
Sounds like it could be the site of a revolutionary war battle, for some reason the area around Worcester seems about right…
Confused Naval Aviator/Ship Communication potential - “Foxtrot Uniform, you are cleared to land on the Perineum”.
‘Catching the third wire’, ‘Closed for landings’, ’turning into the wind’, and ‘recovery operations’ could all be assigned new meaning by low brow or juvenile readers.
A wave off is even more shameful and will be forever after mentioned at any opportunity in a bar.
Welcome aboard speech possibilities “Welcome to the USS Perineum men, it’s not the best place to serve, nor is it the worst, but its close.”
Bonus to Damage control codes, “Engines Reports Level 4 Damage, that last hit just about tore us a new one…”
Mascot opportunity jokes are nearly endless, as are the potential for Brazilian camouflage schemes, topside/bottom side, and soot blow jokes.
Might start a trend where the Nimitz class could be named for body parts instead of ’people of import’

Am I the only one who knows where Kissimmee is without looking it up?

How about the USS Sanford? The port in Florida, not the Junk Dealers.

In an effort to duly focus attention on the range / 'stamina' of the fast carrier group and promote a certain manliness without actually promising any pertinent results, I suggest USS ExtenZe. [;)]

... or why not name her in honor of a most prominent general (in these AARs at least).

CV Flatulence.

Nimitiz' "Grey Book" (wartime diary) online.

Not sure why it took 72 years. Either they:

1) Had to wait till everyone mentioned was deceased so the ICC doesn't charge anyone for shooting down Yamamoto's prane.

-or-

2) They didn't want the Japanese to find out the deslinator at Midway was busted.

Hmmm....that's a bit too close to USS Perineum, isn't it?

"Perineum"...good one but it sounds like a Greek god so it would be a good name for the replacement for Hermes, which hasn't sunk yet either (I think).

"Martha Washington" [:D][:D]...does the USN names ships after women? I don' think so.

"Artifical Reef" (and the like).....hard on morale. [:)]

"Wil-E-coyote"...two pluses..1) easily recognized by largely illiterate crowd....2) funny to hear Japan-mens try to prounuce it.

"Baffins Bridge"......[:D][:D][:D]..that is just ******* hilarious. It really does sound like a Revolutionary War battle. Martha Washington might have even been familiar with it and George certainly would have been. This is the leading contender. The question is, the person who submitted it, is he affiliated with M&M Enterprises?

Yeah, no kidding. All I got was "about blank". It's probably the same contractor as Healthcare.gov. [:D]
