ELO game completed:

Taifun (Axis) defeated Firsteds (Allies). Fast, fun game but players a bit mismatched. Allies lost North Africa and sea lanes. Mauled. Lots of action across the globe. Taifun is a friendly and helpful opponent.

Firsteds is a first-class opponent, returning fast turns even when the war turned for the worst for the Allies. Many thanks for the game. ;)

France surrendered in May 1940 and German forces managed to send 2 panzerkorps under a German General to Libya via Tunis and a damaged Tripoli port. Malta was captured by the end of the year as Allied forces tried to stop the German-Italian forces near Tobruk. Germany invaded the USSR in June 1941, but almost no Soviet forces were met for the next months. Powerful Soviet forces defended the Crimean peninsula and Rostov. The Soviet winter struck in January 1942, by that time, Rostov and Sebastopol were already in German hands. Spain was attacked by the Germans, and that great country fell by the spring of 1942. During the summer-fall of 1942 Stalingrad, Saratov, and Kuibyshev were captured and Moscow reached. Meanwhile, German forces entered Egypt, Iraq and Iran.

Japan captured Hawaii in early 1942 and then divided its fleet in two, one half heading to India and the other half sailing towards the Mexican coast as they tried to intercept a British fleet that was sailing north from the Panama Canal. The Allies were waiting and the fleet was devastated, the Imperial Japanese Navy lost 10 ships including 2 CVs, 2 CVLs, and 3 BBs. Japanese forces invaded south India and Ceylon taking control of the Indian Ocean. US forces recaptured Hawaii and several small Japanese outposts but lost many ships and transports as they approached the Philippines. The Japanese were already on the offensive again by 1943 heading east.

By May 1943 the USSR surrendered, German panzers entered Delhi in India after crossing Afghanistan and the UK was under a heavy Luftwaffe bombardment. Turkey joined the Axis... and the game ended.

I must report also that my last ELO game against Elvis starting last July was not included as lost by Elvis and should be included in the ELO rankings. This game had an AAR:

New game started IIo4Tu (Axis) vs Taifun (Allies).

Standard ELO rules plus:
- No exp farming
- No Italian combat ships outside of Med before DoW
- No DoW (or back doorways) on Japan until after 12-7-1941
- No obvious gamely moves (ex. use transport garrisons as spotting fleets)

After more than 2 years we will be playing again with the same roles. In our first game, I was defeated by the obscure Axis forces as reported in the following AAR:
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 0&t=369514

This time I will try to hold with the USSR until the Allies can offer some help. Not sure how to defeat a veteran player playing aggressively with the Axis. We will see!

Hopefully, you guys will do another excellent AAR! Good luck. Its still very difficult to win with the Allies vs a top Axis player.

[WIN] ElvisJJonesRambo (Axis) vs ThunderLizard (Allies) ---Allies surrender March 1945.

Early success by the Axis put alot of pressure on Russia. The Reds got slammed with huge Panzer Blitz on *key Fall turns. Got couple extra clear weather in late 1943. Was able to smash the Reds, who were forced back to the Urals. Eventually, they would surrender, in late 1944.

Japanese stumbled upon a weak Hawaii. Had no intention on landing, but month after Pearl Harbor, noticed not much of a military defense. There was a long draw out ground war for Honolulu which was captured and held by the Japanese. This hurt USA morale. Japan was also able to beatdown China, were the Commies were no longer a thread.

Allies made their move with many, many Long Range Transport raids. Lost the *Key cities in DEI, but turned it into jungle warfare. Zeros were stationed outta Singapore caused lots and lots of Allied damage. Holding the air advantage kept the area clear. Yanks raided other parts of Pacific Rim, (City in Korea, and many more), but was able to surround and destroy the unwelcome guests.

In Europe, Allies also started the long range swarm method, but their Bridge heads went nowhere. Aiis had some holdups in Egypt. Axis were also able to shove the Greeks and their Allied beach head into the MedSea. There were also, Allied bridge heads in Finland and another in Denmark. Germany kept the advantage, which tied down many Allies units.
Slaps issued: 16 - Patton, Dana White, Batman, Samson. Medals/Salutes given: 6, warnings received: 11, suspensions served: 4, riots: 2.

Just noticed this, yes, Taifun is correct. Checked my gold records, somehow, neither of us reported the game despite an extensive AAR. Taifun was taking a break after the game and I had some personal things come up in July of 2023.

@Early Doors, please add this to the next ELO report, despite it being old.

*** OLD LOSS that was NOT reported, July 2023 ***

[LOSS] ElvisJJonesRambo (Axis) vs Taifun (Allies) ---Yes, this was an old game last July, somehow it wasn't reported, either here, or the main tournament thread. We had done an extensive AAR. My main fault as Axis, was failing to decide between Moscow or Stalingrad for the 1942 push and used the Luftwaffe improperly pursuing a UK fleet on the outskirts of Finland. Taifun is one of the Top players in the world, so there's no room for error.

ELO Match ended

Hamburgermeat - Axis
oldAHgamer - Allies

Axis tactical victory.

Very entertaining game from opponent who fought to the last turn in May 1947, allies needed just a bit more time

Whenever a game goes to the end it must of been close and I think generally the better games we play.
Well done to you both.

Good Game HamburgerMeat - seems against a good Axis opponent the games go this way - i just needed 6 more months! I dinked around in Sweden too long, and should have invaded France sooner. My game against ElvisJonesRambo is headed in the same direction. Russia has surrendered, but Japan almost down (Dec 44) and Allies now fighting rejuvinated Axis in ME, Sweden and France...
