The Air War so far...sorted by total losses.

Look at the Bab losses to flak![:(]

Japanese bomber forces are being hit hard...those great starting pilots I think must be severely attrited.

Scenario 2, so Japan basically has unlimited planes, but not pilots.

The defense of Maryborough...

it will be close. Allies have a significant advantage in guns...but our troops are still rookies, and the squads poorly equipped.

193rd Tank is recovering disabled tanks at Brisbane, 34th US Regiment is resting in Sydney.

IJN showing two Battleships and two destroyers at Rockhampton.

Is the base at Maryborough damaged? Do you suppose it might make fortifications 3 before the battleships commence nightly runs?

No damage, I have good recon on the enemy bases and there is no AKE presently close by.

I will try to drop some mines in with two DMs, and create some PT boats there, and evacuate a fair bit of planes from Brisbane but leave their PT boats there.

Maryborough has 3 CD units, 2 Australian, 1 Marine. Oh, and three dutch subs on the approach hex...plus maybe some night bombing attacks.

Did your opponent drop any hint on the number of pilots he’s lost ? A good number of his losses are A2A or flak, so a lot of them happened over your bases. It must start to hurt.

Forgot to mention this nuclear bombardment.

I have forts 2, the MTBs skirmished with the bombardment fleet, and the 1st Indian Coastal CD unit was present with a full compliment of guns...and they didn't fire once but rather were totally destroyed.

Still, after all this only 6 damage to the base, and a few disabled squads on the British division.

Have made plans to attrit his bombardment forces should they reappear.

Nope.

Well, now I am using all off map bases including Canada. I created a table with distances and then rated them for safety. Choosing safety now, and will transition later to faster routes.

Nuke them 'til they glow, then shoot them in the dark - it is easier that way.

or

Nuke them 'til they are glass then polish them with Windex.

Hmm, as soon as he brings up AKEs then he's going to be very hard to stop at Maryborough

Danger is that he wins and your 3 Aussie Divs become completely combat incapable

But you know all this!

I'm sure you have a plan!

You can watch the replay and think you had a horrendous turn, and then in digging in a bit realize it wasn't so bad.

The really bad: Iboat sinks the large oiler Neosho. But examining the turn it was the Tippecanoe instead.

The very bad: Heavy Cruiser Canberra takes two torpedoes hits in two different attacks.

The nots so bad: Zeroes sweep Brisbane, where I put 1/3rd of the fighters on providing CAP for Canberra and the replay makes me think our P40s really suffered.

The good news, a strong hold by the Chinese Army near Kweilin. 31st Corp didn't even have to come out of reserve mode to bolster the lines. Slowly but surely our experience is climbing.

Bad, but perhaps salvageable.

The Indians showed up at Maryborough, leaving Toowoomba a bit on the weak side...but with lots of units.

Forts at Maryborough almost to 3. In a few more days the Perth defenders start to arrive...some of them at least.
