Well I think the next logical step would be to pair the Baffin and Taint up - Task Force naming contest anyone? (with perhaps the rights to the "combat replay" videos as a prize)

Task force Penicillin?

Adm. Robert A. "Fuzzy" Theobald, CIC NORPAC and the man with the lowest Land Combat rating in all of AE. Here he is seen after preparing for
the Sakhalin invasion with a diet of pure seal blubber for 6 months. Many people think his nickname originated with his preference for short haircuts. In fact, it stems from his "fuzzy" knowledge of the multiplication table.

I thought his nickname come from the book he wrote after the war. The one that said Roosevelt withheld knowledge about the upcoming attack.

Adm Theobald, CIC: Colonel, starting today, I want all the water brought in from Alaska.

Aide: Sir, it will take at least a week to get it here.

Adm Theobald, CIC: I don't care, Colonel. I will not allow the precious bodily fluids of our men to be sapped by the commie bastards right across the border.

Adm Theobald, CIC:
Right, so here is the plan of attack. 27th Infantry Regiment will be in the van in line ahead formation. Even soldiers fire at targets to port and odd numbers to starboard. Sgt Clark will carry me on his back. I will give orders via signal flag. When we pick them up on radar..at perhaps 15,000 yds, I want 27th Field Artillery to open up with star shells....any questions?

Sergeant Bauer: Starboard is to the right and yes, you are odd.
PFC Hurst: To the right of what? And who's even?
Sergeant Bauer: Who's even what?

Adm. Theobald's naval skills more than compensate for his lack of understanding of marching!

Can these CD fortress hexes be transited by surface forces without triggering shore fire?

Strictly out of historical interest, you understand. [:)] Seems like you ought to be able to "sneak" by Fusan and Tsushima..not sure about the other three.

With respect to the Korea Strait,
The shortest distance between Busan, South Korea, and the Tsushima Island is about 50 km, as is the shortest distance from Tsushima to Iki Island, Japan.
So you would have to sail within 25 km of land to transit the Korea Strait. That would bring you within range of large coastal artillery.
