After several rounds of nothing, the Allied Hellcats were shot down. In the next round, the final A6M2 is aborted. Where to?

The Japanese gunners fire to great effect (9, 7, 7), destroying one CVP and knocking 2 points of another.

Allies cause 2 points loss (2 and 4 rolled).

The Allies don't use any points to increase damage, leaving them with an X. It goes successfully on Shokaku.

The Allies stay for another round as do the Japanese. No additional air from the Allied side. Japanese?

Searches: Allies 1, Axis 2. Both find.

The Japanese fly as fighters and stay until their aircraft no longer have wings or engines an' **** - or the pilots have simply been filled with lead and have dropped off this mortal coil. Thank-you
