RE: THE THREAD!!!
Cultural curiosity: what do you guys put on your pancakes?
ETA: butter and maple syrup would be the most common here. Fruit, jam or fruit compote would also be rather common.

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Jam. Usually strawberry or raspberry. Today it will be the latter.
ETA: Syrup/butter would get you that "strange foreigner look" over here [;)]
ETA2: Hmmm ... just realised I have one egg too little. Gotta go and buy some more.

You've never had Swedish pancakes CB? You who live in that bastion of Scandinavians called the Upper Midwest?

In other news, yesterday I helped my mom clear out the stuff from her living room since she has painters coming. Chairs, tables, bookcases, that sort of thing. After I was done, she tried to give me money for it.
SHE TRIED TO PAY ME. My mother tried to give me money for helping her move her belongings.
No.

I prefer butter and cane syrup, but the latter is hard to find around here.

No.
My parents started to do that a couple of years ago. I just mention the car I totalled when I was a teenager, that usually puts my dad's wallet back into his pocket. It's sort of par for the course now. They offer, I refuse. We usually just switch off paying when we go out to dinner now.

Must be a british thing. Traditional way to ward off scurvy? Maple syrup and butter here unless I find myself at IHOP or the like.
