Morning tithe Guys... Just a heads-up on my condition.

I am still in Dunedin hospital and have been getting-over an exploitive operation of my abdomen. The op and other tests have found what is called an endocrine tumour under my stomach, and are now having a C T directed biopics on Tuesday to definitely confirm this.

But the problem is that this growth in an area containing lots of blood vessels, so is therefore inoperative (pity). There are a lot of other treatments that could be used on this condition, so I am optimistic. But I can tell you that having been in hospital for over a month now, that the novelty is wearing off.

Hope you are all well, and remember make the most of it. [:D]

Hi Des. I know how long a month in hospital for such a disease can be....hard to handle.
You have my best thougts, and i hope the best for you guy !![&o]

Hi Per [:)]. I have not forget my threadster brothers yet !
Unfortunately yesterday when i posted, i was
1) in a hurry
2 ) in hanger against my job and all the officers in it ( for those who still don't know, i am working with a**-h**e officers of the fire-fighters)
3) in hanger against my governement
4) in hanger against destiny wich had struck my wife so hard these last years
5) in hanger against human kind wich prefer to keep on with nuclear energy despite all the threat it cause

and so all this made me have only a few minutes to go on the THREAD.

Hey, my best wishes to all my others pals ! i hope they will know who they are [:)]

I'm just glad that when I served we knew who the bad guys were. Although reading this book the Soviets were always playing catch up and Mao really wanted a nuclear war.
Darn, ain't it the truth. Know quite a few people who wax nostalgic about the "old days". One knew what the threat was and its level of capability, and who were the generals, and how they normally thought, and how this, and who that, and what tfo.

Oh, but life was so much simpler then;
We're younger than that now.

Like the man says, war is an extension of politics. So what are the politics? Whatever one may think of Brother Quadafi, he has put Libyan crude on the world market according to its stats. Libyan crude is light/sweet, probably the lightest/sweetest that is available on the world market. This is significant way beyond the bbl production figures.

So, on the one hand, there's this serious jerk pimple who gets his backdoor people to bomb airliners, but who plays according to the rules for resource flow. On the other hand, there's the rebels, who may or may not be democratic, but who might have a skoosh of Shia in their mix. Neither side is likely to exhibit any sort of political/social thought or consequence. One must think about what a successful revolution will involve.

On a purely national interest scale, I'm for the guy who keeps the light/sweet flowing. The Libyan thing is between Lucifer and Beelzebub. Your choice of evils.

Looks like the Gadaffi forces haven't got things all their own way.....

From ABC News site: Video: Fighter jet shot down over Benghazi

Most likely a shoulder launched SAM....

It was weird: that Mirage was already in a spin when it caught fire, right after the pilot ejected. I'm not sure it was actually shot down.

Hard to tell - there was a "hole" in the video between when the jet was flying apparently normally, and when the pilot ejected... the plane wasn't visible for several "frames" before the pilot shows up ejecting... at that time, it appears a thin stream of flame is coming from the aircraft.

It could be a near miss (or not immediately critical hit) damaged something and the pilot finally lot control, or maybe it was just poor maintenance...

News reported earlier that the plane was piloted by a freedom fighter that was mistakenly shot down by the rebels.  The pilot they said deliberately piloted the plane to crash where he did because it was sparsely populated.  The video doesn't have one bit of controlled flight from what I see.

It is MiG-23... the Mirage F1 has shorter wings (and also observe the wing's leading edge with protrusion - the MiG-23 has it because it is swept-wing aircraft)...
