RE: 43 German disaster?

If you screw with forts, moral or logistics it messes up the game come late 43 to 45.

The devs want to screw with historical things and save a flying pig rule. What gives?

This this a historical game or is it based on fantasy?

Throw the stupid rule out, it completely screws the game come 43.

Is the game engine so gimp that it has to be save by a flying pig rule?

You realize they are working on it? So why do you keep whining about it? Can it. [8|]

Why don't we just let Pelton play test it all by himself?

He's clearly tried everything that is possible as the Germans.....

I found the best way in 42 to get things rolling is to start pounding as soon as snow flys in one area. Hit them again when clear turns come up in spring. This will forse the reds to pull back or stay.

You should be able to pound out a path 3 hexes wide 3 to 5 deep per turn.

If he retreats hes out of his fort belt, if he stays you have units to pocket to the north and south of bulge.

Also mech units are almost as strong as panzer divisions. The base of attack should be infantry, the side mech units. if they do push back you will only lose a handfull of tanks. Try to keep the tank units in middle of push.

Vs Hoooper I wanted to test out the Manstein theory and it is a flop, because of the current rule set.

All the games I have tried attacking in 42 I have been able to pocket units to date.

1v1=2v1 has its place during 41 and 42, but needs to be dropped at some pt during 42.

No ones told me they are working on the flying pig rule.

They have said MULTIPLE times that the latest beta the testers have doesn't have it. You can stop your constant bitching about it now.

It's not constant; I have seen two posts recently where he didn't mention it at all [:)]

Never seen anyone win it in 41, have you Michael T? I play for the long run and no one knows what Gods will is Micheal T [:-]

Mynok, if they don't have it in the next patch, why would I stop pointing out that pigs can't fly?

I have yet to read a thread that says out right its not in next patch or what is in next patch for that matter.

I am not the only one to say out right 1v1=2v1 needs to go at some pt in 42 or sooner.

Enjoy! Both are beautiful places.

They aren't going to announce what is in the next patch until they know, so that's no excuse. The fact is, they are aware of it and are testing things without it, but they aren't going to put it in until they are sure what else needs to happen as well.

It detracts greatly from your otherwise excellent AARs. That's my primary reason for harping on it.

And let me take this opportunity to thank you for all your AARs. Nothing helps make a game better. The great thing about 2x3 is that they do follow these intently and take action on issues that arise. It may not occur as fast as we would like, but it does. I have learned this through long years of playing UV and Witp and now WitpAE.

The vast majority of us agree with you on the issue. Other issues contribute IMO, especially the German morale issue, but I'll patiently wait and see what happens. Keep up the AARs. I wish I had more time to do my own.

Can confirm Pelton we have test versions that have the +1 Odds Mod rule taken out. Like other's have said though this along with forts, morale etc tweaks have to be looked at and balanced for the long term as to an optimum as well as realistic and historical solution.
