Yes, his OOB is formidable and it isn't done growing. By keeping his attacks on the conservative side, he protects himself from my counterattacks and doesn't run his troops into the ground. You can see all sorts of high CVs in both his panzer and infantry units. His style of play really fits in well with this latest version of the game. Under these conditions a grand Soviet offensive in 1943 looks very unlikely. But without a Stalingrad to thin his ranks, this could be considered a plausible outcome.

Yep hes sitting pretty good. I find it difficult to attack Pelton and his army has over .5 million less men and about half as many AFV/Aircraft. By February our OOBs should be very close to the same as I have like 2,000 T34s sitting in the pool for when the regiments upgrade hits in January 1943.
Lack of trucks is the only reason im holding off from forming more tank/mech corps right now.

While two Soviet offensives were underway, the German mobile divisions in front of Moscow quietly disappeared in previous weeks. A feeling of complacency had set in along the Volkhov Front and it was here in the Valdai region that the enemy re-appeared in strength with eight panzer and three motorized divisions.
Reinforcements from various armies were immediately called to the area to seal the breach.

Defensive lines are reestablished but over 150,000 men of the Volkhov and Leningrad Fronts are surrounded. The 48th and 61st Armies of the Volkhov Front are the main occupants of this pocket.
A special commission dispatched by the State Committee for Defense to the Volkhov Front headquarters reported little to no Soviet reconnaissance was conducted in recent weeks. General Maior of Aviation S. Khudyakov was reprimanded as well as the commander of the VVS Marshal of Aviation Falakeev for having insufficient reconnaissance aircraft deployed. Eight new regiments are activated to provide increased surveillance from the Leningrad to the Transcaucasus Fronts.
Although Marshal Voroshilov was not held at fault for this latest setback, the consensus within the walls of the Kremlin was that his days as Chief of the General Staff were numbered. Less clear was who his replacement might be, as Marshal Shaposhnikov's health was known not to be improving. Neither Marshal Budyonny nor Marshal Kulik were considered serious candidates. There is encouraging news as the SS Wiking division suffers three consecutive defeats while attempting to rout the 15th Rifle Brigade and 9th Light Howitzer Brigade. In response, Walther Nehring commits 19th Panzer Division to assist the SS in finally forcing the units back. Days later counterattacks by troops of 51st Army throws the Wiking Division out of its defensive positions.
Rear Area Services reports the Red Army vehicle situation improving significantly as Lend Lease trucks have arrived in the proverbial nick of time. Over 18,000 trucks have been added to the truck fleet over the course of the first nine weeks of the year.

Progress in the Tambov region continues. The Voronezh and Bryansk Fronts form a continuous line, allowing the release of divisions previously sent there by the Northwest and Volkhov Fronts. These released divisions will be able to re-establish a firm defense in the north once again.
In the Stalingrad region, the German defenses are stiffening south of the Don. Colonel General Antonov switches Chernyakhovsky’s 3rd Shock to the north to assist Konev’s 16th Army east of Boguchar.
Ivan Bagramyan of 1st Guards Army (cavalry) has been promoted to General Armii.
Several senior officers of the VVS have returned from a top secret visit to England intended to learn the lessons of how the Luftwaffe failed to defeat the Royal Air Force during the Battle of Britain in 1940. The learnings from this visit set the agenda for immediate future planning of air operations against the Luftwaffe. Once fair weather returns, German airbases will be located and subjected to relentless pounding by hundreds of sturmovik ground attack aircraft. Three days later came the decision from Stalin that many had been expecting; Marshal Voroshilov was dismissed as Chief of the General Staff. Voroshilov was thanked by Stalin for his loyal service to the state and Red Army these many months, but it was time for a change in leadership. His replacement was to be Vasilevsky. On 14 April, Colonel General Antonov was ordered from Southern Front headquarters to Moscow and appointed by Vasilevsky as Deputy Chief of the General Staff for Operations.

You are still facing an amazingly well manned Axis Army.....Gonna be a super tough 1943 I think.
Also take it your having alot of supply issues with only 50% armaments production going. Interesting difference between this game and me and Pelton- as I have no manpower and have had none in the pool for basically all of 1942 but at the same time Im facing around 600-700k less Axis troops in total.

On week 67, late September 42, industrial production took its largest piece of the supply pool.
supplies produced this week: 88,500 tons
arms used: 22,035 tons
ground elements used: 15,109 tons
air used: 12,082 tons
vehicles used: 3,345 tons
total used: 52,571 tons or 59.4%
That just isn't sustainable over the long term. Fort building took another 6,535 tons. Vehicle production needed to stay at 100%. There is no point manipulating aircraft #s through the Production screen as they can be controlled almost exclusively by moving the factories around by rail and there will never be a shortage of aircraft in general. Ground elements is hard to reduce because the game engine loves to consume Soviet tanks in battle. That left arms to manipulate and I have plenty of factories. Gradually as 1943 progresses, arms can be stepped back up in increments as needed.
Overall my target goal is now that industrial production not exceed 40% of supplies produced in a given week. That will allow the army to be fed and equipped up to somewhere between 8.5 and 9 million men. That of course assumes the truck fleet holds up because supplies are of limited value to the army without a distribution system.

Ya I was tracking supply for awhile then stopped as it wasnt an issue should probably give it a second look since my army is about 500k larger now.

maybe just my games, but I tend to find that arms points as such become less important as the game progresses into 1943. In part, you tend not to be raising new too many new support units and your ToEs stabilise (especially in terms of demanding new elements). So the main user is your choice of building new on-map units (mech or artillery most likely).
usually you can hold off a turn or so, if you need to conserve arms pts but arms pts can become pretty low priority in terms of supply allocation in production.

Bryansk Front had been able to remove its divisions near the Voronezh Front and was now re-established southwest of Moscow. This allowed Western Front to move south of the River Oka.

Checked my supply, and so far in my game no issues---7.8M men with a fair amount of combat and even using alot of artillery divisions the last couple turns and really not burning much more than im making. So once 1943 hits and Soviet multiplier goes up Ill be good for sure to add prolly 1M more men. Big difference is im sitting at 217 Heavy industry.
I will say the end of december the game must have did some type of major ToE/equipment change out as I have had no manpower all year and suddenly opened to T81 to having 300k men in the pool and quickly burned down all the armaments I had stockpiled over the last several turns due to lack of manpower to employ them lol.

In the area near Boguchar, it is clear that the Germans intend to defend this area. Numerous enemy mobile divisions intended to support their front line are identified.

Several enemy units are retreating and fortified zones are overrun.
In the Tula-Tambov region, multiple German tank corps are in evidence as the Voronezh and Central Fronts slowly move west.
Very strong enemy forces are clearly in evidence south of the River Don.
Another round of multiple (3) airbase strikes yields positive results.
