Turn 5. May/June 1940. Axis #9. The Western Front.

The turn ends with a roll of 3 against a 30% chance of ending. A German mech and armor division in the south achieved a breakthrough. Both sides want to move first next turn, and thus, no matter who wins the first roll a re-roll is guaranteed.

Turn 5. May/June 1940. Italy. Use Oil.

Italy forgoes reorganizing Balbo in order to save a precious oil point.

I guess being disorganized in Tobruk is far better than being shot down by your own forces on arrival there.

Turn 5. May/June 1940. Axis #7. Germany. The Western Front.

The axis are hoping for the turn and the fine weather to continue.

While all German non-HQ land units on the Western Front are organized, all three of their HQ units aren't.

Image

This is what one calls a typical situation which happens on the Western front.
You were right to groundstrike the German hex with the British bomber, but the moment that ground strike failed, was the moment you needed to accept that you couldn't kill that stack. The French ART should not have been used to bombard at all, since it can't retreat and will become useless for the rest of the turn...
After the failed ground strike, the way to progress for the French is quite logical: retreat to make sure that a straight line from Calais to the Swiss border appears. That would have put the Germans back to basic: he can't attack any hex out of three hexes, therefore making it much more difficult to get to Paris, especially since the Luftwaffe is disorganised...

Turn 6. Jul/Aug 1940. Allied #1. The Western Front. French Ground Strike.

The second of two French ground strikes gets through to its target but is ineffective (i.e., fails to disorganize any of the two targets).

Turn 6. Jul/Aug 1940. Allied #1. The Western Front. RAF Ground Strike.

The RAF ground strike also gets through to its target, and like the second French ground strike, is too ineffective. However, both the CW and the Germans lost a fighter unit in the preceding air to air combat.
