Italy - It takes almost 50% of the Italian MPP to get some bombers to North Africa.

I tend to send them there at the start of the game, and I do not pay for it. Fly to Sicily, fly to N.Africa, fly west to the front. Takes 4-5 turns, but saves a ton of cash. [;)]

Going to be interesting to see how you do, but are you playing with build limits or "build as many of each item as you want"-option?

Thank-you - that is a useful tip. The Italians just can't afford that kind of expenditure.

I am playing limited builds.

To be honest I am not expecting much as this is my first game with the Axis, but we'll see [:)]

Finally for this turn, the U-Boat arm achieves their first success for months in the North Atlantic using Wolf Pack Hammer.
So what happened? The U-boats managed to hit a troop transport, or did they lightly damage a fishing trawler? Or did they sink a battleship?

Having broken through part of the El-Alamein line, the motorised infantry of the 104th and 115th Rifle Regiments, sought to attack the rear of O'Connor's line, meanwhile Rommel's armour attacked XIII Corps guarding the approaches to El-Alamein itself. Further back at Sidi Barani, Italian Infantry, supported by German non-motorised artillery, sought to reduce the defenders of Mersa Matruh.

But first, its back to the desert. Rommel's tanks open up the way for the fast moving motorised units of the Afrika Korps to take the town of El-Alamein. Initial reconnaissance reports indicate that there does not appear to be a whole lot by way of infantry and armour between the spearhead units and Cairo.....

Army Group North

AGN centre on Kaunas as their initial target - and take the Lithuanian capital after an intense battle that involved the bulk of Ritter von Leeb's forces. II Corps takes Vilna as the anchor for their right wing, but on the left wing, the 4th Panzergruppe runs into the Soviet 14th Army and suffers unnecessary, and ill-afforded loses.

Army Group Centre

North of the Pripyat Fedor von Bock's forces complete the surrounding of the Bialystok pocket. In order to wrest the fortress of Brest-Litovsk from Soviet control, the town of Bialystok has not received attention, but the mechanised units to the north are both almost wiped out.

Army Group South

The enormity of the distance that Army Group South have to travel is made clear here. The opening moves are okay - with yet another Soviet fortress falling to the Wehrmacht. But the Germans will want to quickly get beyond Lvov...
