*curses*

Yes, Germany selected combined.

I was about to change it to combined (for Germany) when I muttered that Japan had nothing to do and that shifted my focus on whether go with combined for Japan or land... and in my old dotage I have no capacity to hold more than one thought at once. [:(]

Indeed.

Although, the CW forces in USSR are now in the region of 150,000 - 200,000 men.

There are 5 HQ/GAR/MIL corps and 1 FTR corp at the moment. Stalin asked if CW can afford some more help and CW said yes...

Unfortunately WIF has many ahistorical items. This is one of them. The idea we have as allies is to send CW units that are not much good elsewhere: 4-1 GAR, 3-3 MIL, 5-3 INF, etc. Once they are all in place the truly valuable units (2 HQI's) can be withdrawn and put to better use by late 41.

The ahistorical item that bothers me most about WIF is the lack of "friction" for Germany as they advance deeper into Russia. It just feels so wrong to have Panzers running at full strength into the Urals and Astrakhan and Baku. Historically the problem with partisans, rail gauge, lack of rail engines/cars, transportation line sabotage, etc along with the wear and tear on trucks and roads made this really untenable for the Germans in 42/43. Their logistical tether was extremely stretched by late 42 just advancing to Stalingrad and to the beginning of the Caucasus mountains. This "friction" isn't modeled in WIF. In fact Soviet partisan number and frequency should probably be much higher though this wouldn't fix the "friction" problem imo.

Has anyone ever railed CW units to East and attacked Japan using USSR rail roads to bring units to East?

I thought that brought supply issues due to the limit set on the length on the supply line? Maybe that limit has been changed?

No, as far as I know, those supply issues are still there. However, this was in 1945, after the conquest of Germany. The US stuck a CP in the Sea of Japan to put the units in supply. I also was railing US units through Russia, too.
