Warm up a cup of wine (the darker the better) and put in between a teaspoon to a tablespoon of lemon juice. I think that lime juice would also work. Possibly grape juice instead, the darker the better but I never used the sweet juice but rather the naturally desugared juice. The grape wine has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral properties.btd64 wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 9:45 am Between babysitting and a head cold, I feel like I missed something here![]()

To check for stuffiness/clogged sinuses, press fingers on the face by the nose and between the eye and the mouth. You do not have to press hard. Many sinus infections are actually seen by dentists first. You can also get pain behind the ear.
Also for a stuffy head, lay your face down on an electric hot pad set on high or a hot water bottle that is wrapped in a towel. If you don't have either of those, then pour boiling water in a zip lock bag that has a small towel or rag in it, wrap that in a cloth as well. You want the heat to cover the entire nose and slowly work its way behind the ear. The heat will loosen things up in your sinuses. You may have to blow a bunch of gunk out in about 5 minutes or so but keep doing it to get both sides of your head clear.
Then have hot tea and/or clear chicken broth/bouillon to drink. As hot as you can stand it without burning/scalding yourself. This will help the throat. But before you do that, gargle with either an anti-septic mouthwash or something at least 80 proof which is 40% ethanol. Spit that stuff out because you do not really want to swallow anything that was bothering your throat. This will help the throat and tonsils.
Get a nasal rinse to keep things moist for drainage. Lay down with something under your shoulders, tilt your head back, squirt up one nostril only then move your head so you will get the liquid to the back of your sinuses. You should be able to feel this. Do both sides. Do not do this sitting up because excess will run down the back of your throat. It will do your sinuses no good and does taste nasty.
If you get a yellow discharge, contact your medical provider - that is pus along with anything else that is there.
You are most welcome. I have suffered from sinus infections off and on for over 20 years. Yes, I suffered them and did not enjoy them.btd64 wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2022 1:42 pmHey, thanks for all of the information.
