Apparently Frank stats got mixed up Matrix are helping us fix it - main point to note is that they offered to tun on PDU and I said no !!!

(Had PZB insisted I would have acceded but he left decisoin in my hands)

With no Hellcats in pool and no trained navy Pilots PDU would have made any of my plans impossibel so I said no - I will be seriously considering whether PDU is a benefit or curse in all my allied games in future - my current view is that alllied to japanese production it is something all allied players should think long and hard about before agreeing to it really is not something that works in the favour of the allies as thre Japanese have far better pool density in key types through control of producution

of course a better solution would be to revise some of the Allied AC production rates to more realistic historical figures!!!!! PLEASE matrix!!

Also, while we are making some minor adjustments, how about making Sydney (or Melbourne, or even Perth) the default arrival base for UK units (air, naval and ground) if India is captured. Surely this is realistic.

Still a great AAR Andy.

Thanks Buzz I felt a little guilty saying no to Matrix's kind offer but on balance I doubt I will play with PDU on in future it just makes the game fantasyland tied to Jap production.

T-4 for Op Plan Yellow to load up - I am just stockpiling a few Hellcats in the pool and trying to knock some sys damage off of my carriers while we wait.

All Superforts are out of Malaya and I will move on Sumatra soon as well as landing forces on North Borneo to distract attention.

The last of the amphibs are en route and I will be ready to load up my forces soon.

Points are going to be the key to avoiding defeat.

OK the plan for India ----

Operation Hangover CURE...

The key is to land somewhere where I can quickly capture a road nexus to exploit including 1 or more bases on which I can base forces including 11th Airborne Div.

In outline the plan is to land on or around Madras with 6 Divisions and lots of Armour in two Corps.

1 Corps will capture Madras while the second exploits towards Hyderabad.

As soon as Madras is captured I will bring in 11th Airborne plus the 503rd Para Regt and perform an Arnheim type mass airborne landing either at Ahmabad or Delhi following it up with my newly designated air mobile 5th NZ Bde with the purpose of cutting the country in two all the while 30 Corps err sorry em 1st Aus Corps [:D][:D][:D] Armour goes up the road to relieve them. If this works PZB will not be able to dig in and fortify at Karachi and Bombay because I will cut his forces in half - accordingly I am startingto move C47 Groups to Northern Australia I want to mass 500+ C47's for the primary lift.

The reconquest of India is on and will begin by February 45 !!!!

I'd be very surprised if all his troops weren't sitting behind level 9 forts throughout India. The trick will probably be to prevent them from consolidating so that you can defeat him piecemeal.

Yup but thats ok I can still earn the draw !!!!

Stage 1 is to eliminate the Singapore Garrison ASAP and finally secure Malaya

p.s. I recieved 3 more RAF Sqns when I recaptured Singapore

A sqn of Dakotas and 1 of Blenheims and 1 of Wellingtons - I suspect when I land in India I will get more

I need to convince PZB that Malaya is going to be the springboard for fuure advances !!!

I get all the land and air units but for some reason the Navy stalled at the date Karachi fell so all my RN Ships are at 600+ days. (I think the game assumes the RN is actually building these ships not transferring them from other theatres)

Its unfortunate because I could really use the RN BB's and CA's to bolster my surface vessels but I will never see them - in fact its dammed annoying but there is nothing I can do about it.

I will recieve the RAF and Army units though so its not all bad

OK I am back and this time the New Year is gonna start with a bang

Operation Yellow begins initial loading in 4 days !!!!!

In the meantime I am securing the other side of the Malacca straight as I continue to prepare for Operation Hangover Cure - it aint original but it is named with feeling ! Medan is secured which will be usefull.

OK this turn was well bloody he came after my convoys off of Singapore and he hit hard.

I really wish he hadnt not because of the damage but because of the pilot pools and low levels of hellcats I have available

It looks like I lost a lot of plaes today he suffered his normal enormous losses but by mixing up the altitudes he pushed my cap out of position for the 3rd strike.

It wasnt decisive but it did hurt.

After they all get to Singapore I will need to turn off replacements as I will needevery pilot and frame to support Yellow.

As a diversion this is working well he must still think this is my main axis of advance to be committing so much against me.

Wave 5 OK this was the main attack and it hurt

51 Obsolete,24 Jacks and 44 Franks against 125 Allied CAP fighters that were scattered after fighting all over this was a pm strike so my CAP had re organised but even so losses and combat damage had knocked 50 off my at start CAP and leaving a diproportiate number of Wildcats indicating the Corsairs and hellcats had done most of the fighting against the earlier raids

My pilots shout down 88 out of 125 Jap fighters but lost a further 60 of my own fatigue is obviously telling on my pilots after the 3rd distinct engagement (I think 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 hit together as they faced the same cap)

38 out of 80 bombers made it through to launch bomb runs on my TF scoring a kamikaze hit on Essex and a Torp hit and Kami hit on Colorado

OK a few updates Palembang launches more strikes against my convoys transitting the seas south of Singapore a few more hits on CVE's but I will manage

I have sorties the Wasp TF to help out its annoying and I will launch heavy raids against Palembang to neutralise the threat.

In other news I have began loading for Operation Yellow.

I am a little short of MSW's and only have 50 available.

10th Army (Iwo)

24th US Corps (Iwo)
3 Assault Loaded US Divs
3 Armoured Regts

10th US Corps (Marcus)
1 USMC Div
1 US Div
1 Aus Div
3 Armoured Regts

3rd Amphib Corps (Wake)
2 Assault Loaded US Divs
3 Armoured Regts
1 Aus Div on 2k AP's

Plus Arty, Seabees and Base Forces

I have over 250 LST's, LSV's, LSM's and LSD's, plus numerous AP's and AK's

After the TF's have finished loading I will run through the TF's

But to give a flavour

the Fleet will have at LEAST 14 Fleet Carriers covering the attack !!!!

The plan is to land on each island in turn without pausing to ensure capture

Reserves are available in the Marshalls and Pearl (3 more Corps) ready to exploit to the Bonins if the opportunity presentes itself.

I want, hope and need this to be a surprise

In total I am loading 8 Inf Divs, 1 Marine Div, (7 of them assault loaded on LST's/LSD's or LSM's and 2 on 2k AP's) 3 Corps HQ's, 1 Army HQ, 1 Amphib Force, 9 Armoured Regts, 6 Corps Arty Groups, 10 Seabee Bns, 6 Base Forces 2 Aviation Regts, supplies, oilers, tankers escorted by over 300 fighting ships !!!!

The plan is to land 3 Divisons plus 3 Ard Regts on each atoll.

After the Wake Corps is ashore those transports will turn for Pearl and load up with the 3 Divisions tasked with hitting the Bonins or to the marshalls where I have 4 Divs prepping for Pagan

This is going to be a spear thrust right into the jap vitals

I have another 3 Divs in Pearl prepping for Okinawa just in case this goes real easy !!!!

I have 13 USN and 1 RN Fleet Carriers about 6 CVL's and I think about 15 CVE's/R's

4 of the USN Carriers are equipped with Corsairs as well as Hellcats

So about 600 ish Hellcats, 200 ish Wildcats and 160 Corsairs basically 1,000 fighters and FB's.

I only have 21 Hellcats in the pool and 4 navy pilots so heavy attritional losses need to be avoided

The difference this time is that I know what to expect and I am picking off bases with limited bases to support them.

My first 2 P51D Sqns are en route to Pearl and I will get a couple of CV's out of dry dock in the not to distant future
