  • Soviet People Rally Behind U.S. - + 10 SI
Supply: 39
VP: 135

Fronts - Panama: I still have the Panama Canal. I reinforced it with the Cuban artillery from Havana. A lot of Brazilian units are being smashed to pieces against my defenses.

The Nicaraguans seem to be moving into Honduras.

Mexico: The Zapatistas have emerged from the jungle and are besieging a Mexican Army regiment in Merida.

The 4th Army continues to push south despite the moderate shock penalty.

West: The Japanese have invaded!!! An infantry division just landed on the beaches south of San Diego. I sent everything I could afford to there. I didn't expect the Japanese until at least Turn 16!

North: Nothing much going on. He attacked Pittsburgh for some reason and obviously failed.

South: I am continuing the general pullback to the Ohio River.

Memphis was attacked again. The Germans fell for my trap and crossed the Mississippi with the 12 Mech Bgd - it is about to be smashed by the full might of the 28 ID.

Turn 14 - 8/6/42

News: Zapatista Rebels Revolt
US Rail Transport Increases
Canada Officially Enters the War (?)

Where's the +30 Soviet Intervention for the Japanese invasion?!?!

Supply: 42
VP: 123
LP: 18/9

Fronts - Panama: Nicaraguan forces are moving in from Costa Rica, and the Colombians have brought up a cavalry division. The Brazilians are spent, but I don't know if I can hold out for long once surrounded. I'm going to ship in the 309 Inf Reg from New Orleans (relieved by Canadian 7 Arm Bgd) next turn as a reserve.

Mexico: The Zapatistas are being checked by a fresh Mexican infantry regiment and cavalry brigade. I foolishly had them dig in instead of retreating into the jungle. Hopefully, I'll manage to withdraw them into Belize and goad the Mexicans into attacking the Free French there.

Further north, the task force originally meant to beat a path to Mexico City while the Mexican army was engaged near the Rio Grande and knock them out of the fight by taking the capital will instead flank the Mexicans from the south and screen for the thrust by the entire 4th Army into central and southern Mexico.

Mexican forces almost managed to take San Antonio, so I'm railing in modest reinforcements for an offensive in the area.

A pesky recon batallion is a little too far north for my tastes, so a National Guard regiment will be sent to destroy or halt it.

West: The Japanese have taken San Diego and landed nearly two divisions on American soil. The Marines are digging in.

An elusive Mexican cavalry brigade has been located along the Colorado River by New Mexican National Guardsmen.

The Japanese carrier force and a naval escort is several hundred kilometers off the Oregon coast. Their battleships and heavy cruisers are near San Diego and will be attacked by the Hornet's naval bombers.

North: Washington DC is, at last, certain to fall next turn. Two battered battalions of the 93 Inf Reg are scattered throughout a few gutted buildings, awaiting the final
attack. When the city falls, three paratrooper regiments, two mechanized brigades, three artillery battalions, and a regiment of mountain infantry will be freed up.

Turn 15 - 8/13/42

Supply: 41
VP: 64
LP: 18/10
AS: 43/36

Fronts - Panama: The Colombians actually brought an infantry division as well, but the Brazilians are still building up their manpower and morale for another attack.

The Nicaraguans draw closer. A single regiment should be enough to keep them from surrounding the Canal.

Japanese battleships have been spotted off the Costa Rican coast, prompting a response by the entire Atlantic Navy. The Japanese warships have been bottled up near the mouth of the River Terraba south-east of San Jose. If this ends as a defeat, the repercussions will be as limitless as they are severe; the Panama Canal will fall into fascist hands at the least.

Mexico: The Zapatistas are skirmishing with the Mexicans.

Due to issues with the Japanese, all planned operations are canceled. Most of the 4th Army will remain in Mexico until all enemy troops near the border are eliminated, at which point 3/4 will withdraw from the theater.

West: The Japanese have three infantry divisions on shore at this point, as well as what seems to be two of their tank divisions (with the third presumably in China).

A detachment came to the aid of the Mexican cavalry and routed the National Guardsmen that had been harassing it. Since there is a good chance of the Japanese heading east to loot and pillage while the Marines and Co. are fixed north of San Diego by a single infantry division, I'm pulling as many men as possible from Mexico to Arizona.

There was apparently a sea battle involving my battleships near San Francisco, or perhaps a raid by naval bombers. If the latter's the case, then the Japs were more successful at it than I was - a battleship and 3 destroyers have been sunk, bad enough even with the assumption that no other ships were damaged.
