Hey I just noticed that our victory points is a positive number now. I wonder what caused that. Objectives taken or something?

EDIT: Never mind. I discovered that I was looking at the Axis side. I only just now remembered that I had halted the AI of the Axis
side so I could check something. Losses or supply or something. And had forgotten that I had done that and it wasn't immediately
obvious that I was looking at the Axis side. Case solved. Move along nothing to see here.

Here's the Axis supply situation. I've cut off the supply to the southernmost German group I see.

The Germans have a squadron of HE-111's somewhere. I'll have to keep that in mind. This is gamey I know but I've only done it this
once and only because I was relatively sure I had extinquished the Axis air force. This was just to make sure.

So I let the Axis do their turn and then they got another turn immediately after that and so they did two turns in a row and then it's T54
and something new has popped up. Rearguards.....lots of them. All black and white and menacing looking. I guess that's what I get
for not trying to push my way through it before now. Now it'll be harder because of the rearguard dudes.

Here's a report about the plane losses. I'm almost out of Boston's; I'll have to park them soon. I've lost a lot of P-40's but I really did
depend on them for a lot of ground support here lately and they did their share of the damage and suffered some remarkable losses.
I've got Hurricanes in the pool but there aren't any Hurricane squadrons. I guess they were all withdrawn or something.

As far as you would like, nice to see you run the map if you want to. I'd like at least to see you get to the Gothic Line and see if the PO is able to stop you there. It seems the Gustav Line wasn't much more than a speedbump.

Allrighty then. The scenario calls for lots of turns but they go fast and it's fun so let's do it.

And about the Gustav line: It had holes in it that I could infiltrate through. Plus the landing
at Anzio unhinged the southern part of it.

Quick question: Is it gamey to use the "alternate" invasion technique ( run your unit up to
the place you want to ingress and stop adjacent to it. NEXT turn you unembark from the
sea movement and just walk ashore. At any terrain except impassable types).

Well, its a weird issue. Elmer certainly has enough trouble dealing with the stuff that we know is probably going to happen. Throw that technique at him and I would bet he has more trouble. I guess I would say that if I were playtesting for effect, I wouldn't do it. If I were playing for the sake of fun, I might do it just for giggles.

I thought I'd capture Rome while the way was open. I may not be able to hold onto it for long depending on the German reaction to my
insult.

T54's front lines. I'm disabusing the map of German units. Shoving them back. destroying them piecemeal. It's not a push over but a
slow steady push.

I don't know what this theater option does but it sounds good. I selected it.

And now for a word about the planes......The Hurricanes are piling up in the pool because there's no squadron for them to be a part of
and there's 15 losses of them, probably because there was a squadron but it got shot down, all of it. And the Mustangs are starting to
pile up in the pool so when they finally become active there will be adequate numbers on hand to staff some squadrons. All in all the
losses are less than the German's proportionatly speaking. I'm guessing. I sure miss being able to use the B-17's and B-24's on the
German positions but I guess they were all stationed in England and were on a different mission and weren't available. Right?

Here's T56's front lines. I'm pushing north from Rome. The Gustav line is almost gone now. In the mopping up stages.

Here's a close up of a section of the Gustav line and how I'm wrapping around the ends of the Axis lines and cutting them off from
supply and destroying them a day at a time. The southern section is in a similar condition. It's almost gone now.

I would drive this paratroop brigade into the airfield and fly them next turn except for the fact that I have no air points to fly them. Hint,
hint.

It's too bad that there's no supply source(s) for the partisans. They reconstitute at the same supply level that they died as and as a
result the supply level in the units goes lower and lower and pretty soon they are running around w/ 1% supply and so on.

I'm building a railroad from Taranto and I'm only just now getting close to Foggia. The supply level is slowly climbing in Foggia and I'm
going to base a lot of planes there.

This shot give one a better idea of the length of the railroad from Taranto to Foggia. I'm surprised that it's gotten so long so quick. I
thought that the RR engineers were relatively slow but I guess I was wrong. My bad.
