Experience the full depth and detail of large turn-based strategy games, but with the simplicity and ease of real-time, and on the scale of a massively-multiplayer online game. In breaking news, Distant Worlds Universe was just announced across a range of major gaming sites, so more than the 10 of us here back in the distant corners of the Interweb can actually talk about it. Good idea Cauldyth!

Has the interface been improved any? Are there new report and/or info gathering features, summary screens? I have always felt that this game could use a custom, user defined report feature that players can create to track whats important to them. More of a sitrep type of thing. It would be nice to open one report that compiles the info you want and tells you what you need to know, such as resource shortages, new ship builds, idle ships, fleet status (fuel/damage/etc) and so forth. This would improve play and eliminate some of those buttons and toolbars on the screen.

Also, is 'Universe' the same as DW2 or is DW2 something entirely different?

Thanks
No problem Chief!

DW2 is something different, and I'm not sure if development has even started on that yet. Universe is a standalone release that incorporates all previous DW content, plus this new content. It should make it more financially attractive for new players, and will also come with a discount for existing DW owners.
