Cairns is a good study in defensive terrain. being wooded rough, it severely reduces the attacker and improves the defender. Then my astute opponent build mega fotress on the ground. This is the result of the sixth ground assault - - - still not there yet, but getting closer. Note I am bombing the hell out of the base and bombarding just about every turn.

The siege has been going on for two game weeks and probably lasts at least another 1. Well don't to my opponent.

This is something I haven't reported on much - the current stalemate around Moulmein / Rangoon. Lots of air combat occurring on a regular basis. This is a combat result from a bombing I made at Moulmein. He used LRCAP from about 5-6 hexes at very high altitude, and I swept a dozen squadrons of Spitfire 8, P51D, and P47. This is about as good a loss ratio as the empire can muster at this point in the war unless my fighter scheme breaks.

Only Cooktown is left to mop up at the horne. I am moving numerous engineers to repair, build airbases, and generally prepare for potential New Guinea operations.

I am moving an army towards tennent creek and another towards Brisbane.

The empire bolt is mostly or completely shot in Oz - I have tracked what I believe is 12 enemy division formation destroyed since the campaign started 7 game weeks ago. I don't expect any more major fighting except around a few of the major objectives like Darwin, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.

Troop ferrying from Pearl to OZ (for staging) has begun. 300 ships have arrived, 200 have already departed, and another 500 are on their way. There are about a total of 200 units to move from the Hawaii area. This process I hope to have complete by March, about the time I will be able to open up the amphibious war again. more on that later

All American CV's have had the 45 upgrade. All CVE are either Corsair A or D. basically we are armed for bear in the upcoming battles.
