January 6th 1941 Germany/Italians

The War drags into its 4th year, on the Russian Front Astrakhan and Rostov fall to the Germans and the net tightens around Odessa.

In the North African desert the British pull back from Tripoli, the Luftwaffe give them a not so fond farewell, part of the reason the British have had to withdraw.

The British fleet of World War One destroyers are not shown the respect that their age requires, they are retired to the bottom of the Mediterranean.

Panzer IVg's are now on the assembly lines as well as the new German fighters.

Izmir turkey falls to the Italians who are also making progress in Greece besieging Athens.

Very sad about the ODDs but such is the way of defeat.

I hate the thought of facing PzIVGs.

Feb 3rd 1941 Germans/Italians

Mansteins 10th Panzer Army add the capture of Leningrad to their battle honors, assisted by the 7th Panzer Army.

In the South Sevastopol fell to the Germans, the Soviet armies in and around Odessa, demonstrate that they have plenty of fight in them smashing back the Rumanian 1st Infantry Army and the 2nd Hungarian Infantry Army causing great loss to those armies. But thes forces are now totally cut of from the rest of mother Russia, and the Germans now approach from the east behind them.

The Africa Corp form around Tripoli Rommel was lounging in Berlin with no command he has been appointed.

The Atlantic suffers its largest naval engagement with a mixed force of Destroyers and Submarines attempting to break into European waters, punching through the german screen of U-Boats and Destroyers between the Azores and Las Palmas, unfortunately they are fighting under the German air umbrella and vulnerable.

The Italians take Athens and land a Division on the West coast of Crete, cities were also taken in Anatolia.

This shows a Panzer Division of the 4th Panzer army the PZIIc unit is one of the longest serving in the German army, lets hope their luck holds.

Not really that strong I have seen the British with more power 22K+ the Germans Total about 15K the Italians have never recovered pre war levels with the loss of their navy in and around Rome back in 39, they start with 8K force level they have been hovering around 4K ever since those blows, though to be fair I have spent all of their production on upgrading the Italian economy, which is just about done.

March 4th 1941 Germans/Italians

The USN probe between the Azores and Las Palmas is explained a group of US troop transports with a single US infantry division. Were caught being escorted by a small naval taskforce of some cruisers Destroyers and a Type 1 aircraft carrier. The Carrier is still afloat though badly damaged after attacks by several wolf packs, the destroyers and cruisers in their attempts to screen the carrier suffered heavy casualties.

The Russian Front no major gains Maikop the first of the Soviet oil fields was captured in the caucuses. The clean up around Leningrad continues and Finland is still under Soviet control. Odessa is reduced again but not taken, for the Germans more ground work to do before the main event the assault of Moscow.

More progress in Anatolia, Ankara is still in Soviet hands but now surrounded.

The British push out from their fortresses in the desert west of Alexandria, the Luftwaffe remind them why this is not a good idea.

Sitting in the fortresses may not be such a good idea either!

Being anywhere near units of the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe or Kriegsmarine is not such a hot idea!

Great Britain sent a task force to try and help the Americans, we got slaughtered.

I continue to be impressed with the progress of the European Axis.

April 1st 1941 Germans/Italians


Odessa was captured at last, all Soviets that survived are on their way to POW camps. This frees all armies to converge on Moscow.

Ankara fell to the Italians the British continue to fortify around Egypt and parts of the Middle East.

The Global nature of the war becomes more apparent to the Germans as they approach Alma Ata and their second global ally China.

The force strength of the Germans globally is revealed powerful but hardly awe inspiring.

From this end of the stick it actually inspires feeling of significant anxiety.

Great Britain has evacuated the survivors of the Crete garrison.

May 4th 1941 Germans Italy

No major gains from any of the sprawling fronts, some progress made in reducing the Soviet Capitol as German power is switched towards the Soviet Capitol.

The German intelligence have mapped out some of the British defenses in the Middle East and North Africa they are huge and in depth.

A hair width away from opening a land route to the Chinese.

May 26th 1941 Germans/Italians

Moscow falls to the 10th Panzer Army and the 4TH Panzer Army. With a huge wave of tactical airstrike's from the Luftwaffe as a prelude.

Helsinki was also captured.

The Rail link to the Chinese has been established the Germans are in the War Zone not yet in sufficient numbers to regain all Chinese territory, but a gradual build up will begin.

The last of the Soviet Oil fields were captured, much needed now as the demands of the Luftwaffe Wehrmacht and Kreigsmarine, are growing at a alarming rate.

The Panzer Divisions shown pretty much shouldered the battle for Moscow pressing on when most of the newer units withdrew from the fight.

@USSR: Well... we let eachother to our own business. Good neighbours untill almost the end.
@Germany: Thanks for the final game alliance and speedily sending reinforcements.
@United States: Clever early play, probably preventing an early Chinese victory. The whole game I remained scared of USA naval shore bombardments.
