They used to hold that convention at the same time of year as the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The CES was one of the biggest of the year and interesting to see the dynamic of the two conventions at the same time. That was years ago and may have changed.

Hmm, I looked up Falmouth Institute, Inc. A Native American training and consulting company providing culturally relevant education and information services to North American Indian tribes and organizations.

What on earth do they do that they have multiple conventions in Sin City? [&:] Still, I may partner with them [;)]

Probably because Las Vegas is centrally located. We have the Paute Indian Reservation 20 miles North of Las Vegas. Several Indian Reservations in Arizona, new Mexico, California, Utah, Oregon. But I understand, your ? Because with all the Indian Casinos the must be enough convention space at one of theirs. Maybe it just comes down to the fact that you can have more fun in Las Vegas.

Hi Orm,
No we don't have that which you speak of. But we do it for individual players. Basket Ball, Baseball will send a player down to the minor leagues when they are performing poorly. Football, they let players go. These players usually end up playing Arena Football or sell new cars.
Yes, I know that you do not have that kind of system.

But wouldn't it be cool if you could start a ice hockey team in Las Vegas that could advance all the way into NHL?

Hey Orm, our conversation a while back. Now look at Las Vegas Professional Hockey (expansion)team going to the playoffs. History made.
Indeed. [:)]

I've been following their results with interest. Although I have yet to see them play.

What's happening in Las Vegas

Casinos:
What has been a regular ongoing phenomenon continues. There have been remodels of established Casinos, like Palace Station(locals casino)Downtown(original center) Casino being gutted and remodeled. The famous Stratosphere Tower Casino will be redone and Renamed. The Sahara was renamed and redone 3 years ago, now a new owner is redoing it again and will rename it again as well.
Small list of redo's:

Monte Carlo 450 million redo and name change to Park MGM
Excalibur
Palazzo
Luxor

Most of the remodels run into the hundreds of millions of dollars. These remodels as I said are just a normal activity in Las Vegas
The motivation to remodel and how to remodel is based of what is projected to give the company the best return. A lot of research is done to determine which Casino will best make a remodel cost effective.

New Resort Worlds Casino being built on the Strip. Some controversy as the Casino across the street (Wynn) claims it looks too much like theirs. Who knows what will happen?

Casinos are not making as much as in other years. Some of the complaints locals make (reasons we don't go on the Strip) parking fees, increased resort fees, stingy machine payouts.

Hockey if you can believe it!! Las Vegans have really got behind their team. If you go anywhere you are bound to see someone with a hat, shirt, sticker on their car with the Knights emblem.
Another state of the art stadium is rising up from the desert floor in readiness for the new Las Vegas Raiders pro-football team 2020 season.

The Asian themed Casino is also in construction. 4 billion dollar cost. They will feature a habitat for Pandas.

Economy is is very good shape as it is with the whole country.

Strange year for weather. one week cold, one week wind, one week warm. But yes, summer has begun. first week we are in the 90's Fahrenheit.

Grasshoppers in the thousands. Because of the weather mating season is extended for the grasshopper. They are everywhere!

Its a leap year they say. Be truthful I have not taken note of leap years. Don't really look for them. Can't be that important. The only thing of note is time is lost or gained in that year. Not sure which.

This is an odd year. Leap years only happen in even years. The year also has to be divisible by 4 with no remainder. There are a couple of other rules as well.

Oh okay, thanks for that clarification. The news here must be referring to 2020 in its report. Don't know how they associate the two? Grasshoppers and leap year.

Of course it must be a leap year, with so many grasshoppers doing millions of leaps every day. The leaps must be in the billions or more. And if that doesn't account for a leap year then I do not know what it takes.
