Please excuse my spelling. Its a low priority with me.I think my post was quite clear although obviously misunderstood. I'll try again.

I don't believe it was remotely possible to support major operations through Darwin without a large and continuous seabourne supply effort. I may be incorrect and if so let me know, but others who have posted seem to agree and so far no dissenting voice has surfaced.

The game allows supplies to be transfered to Darwin in large quantities via a non-historical rail net. Again I may be wrong but others have posted in detail concerning the inaccuracy of the map in this regard.

Because of this inaccurate rail net it is possible for the allies to mount major operations through Darwin into the DEI. It also will allow JP forces to mount overland operations from N. Austrailia into the remainder of the country. Neither of these operation seem to me possible.

Now all my posts have been quite rational regarding this subject and given in the spirit of improving the game. Perhaps I have misunderstood your last post.

I think from the information collected in this thread so far its obvious that a fairly substantial shipping operation was required just maintain the offensive LBA that built up in the Darwin Military area. To actually support offensive amphibious operations out of Darwin or elsewhere in the north west of Australia wouldve been very costly indeed.

In Summary, the main points regarding the current Australian rail/seafreight network are these (as I see it);

- LCU's take way too long to move on the rail/road network. (see prior postings which support this).

- no coastal shipping effort required to supplement the land based supply link (which historically happened). This means the Japanese havent as much opportunity to interdict the ships/supplys which should be feeding Darwin/ Broome/ Derby etc.

- Currently impossible to move Australian Home defence units (Militia) by sea. Which is I think the main reason we have this bogus rail network arching across the top of OZ.
In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
