Good job so far. You need to be determined here and finish your job - destroy his damaged ac on the ground (should have plenty of them siting damaged on the AF) and sink his capitol ships. But don't allow yourself to get sick of "Japanese victory sindrom"....[;)] - sometimes it is enough just one unlucky turn to ruin all your effort.

IMHO, this is a vaste of supply and time. By the time when these ac arrives, allied fighters will eat them anyway. It is a better to research fighters, IMO...

Agree.
This second run over Soerabaja was devastating. His air forces should be in a very bad shape and you could easily finish his 2 BB (that do not return unlike his CVs :) )
Great job!

Just a few more thoughts,
When he see that defeat is near,he may try to save some of his units from Soserbaya.
Plan is,when i close airprts in the southern area i will move with KB and BBs,KB will bombard harbour(i see huge number of ships there)while BBs will cover the exit.
I can smell a lot of VPs here, and i will take it.
After Jawa i will be close to 4-1 ratio.
In order to have a more VPs,Russia will be invaded.Today i will announce my plan for Russia to GH giving him more time to prepare.[;)]

I agree with pauk.
Late DB and TB are a waste. All you are going to need from '43 and on are fighters.
Save the HI for something else. You won't have many chances to use your DB in '43.

Good job so far. [;)]

The air battles he is fighting may rate, but he is giving you a gift when he sends the RN BBs into action against your airforce.

They have no AA to speak of, but their main battery is one of the great ship killing guns of all time. You are fortunate to be able to fight them with planes.

A very interesting battle, if you can take Java quickly it will be a major Japanese victory.

Yes,i now that.I simply cant understand why he sent surfase ships to engage my invasion forces. He now, when day is come those ships will be obliterated by kates, vals, bettys, nells. Looks like he found pirate trasure in soserbaya.[:D][:D][:D]
He must now that i must take Jawa asap, that means 90% of combined fleet is there. And he stand and fight, what a spirit.
In next few days he will lost all his aircraft in Jawa, then KB will came close and sink everything. He gambles too much, way to much.
Also,Tanaka is doing good job with BBs[8D]

You are right[&o].

I think he's overcommiting his forces in Java. With his air cover gone his navy will be obliterated. You may catch the bulk of his land forces unless he starts an emmergency evacuation soon.

My belief is that the land and airforce commitment may prove justified if the air units cause enough damage and the land units buy enough time. Both of these questions will be answered as the game proceeds it is too early to tell right now.

At any rate I don't believe the decision to commit them is foolish on the face of things.

But the naval commitment is getting Hoepner very little in exchange for very heavy losses. Japan in not losing ships and the land advance in not being delayed. Compare this with my Lunacy game with Mogami where the Prince of Wales hit the Japanese fleet twice and sunk the Suzuya and several DDs. The Japs sunk some of my DDs and cruisers too, it was not a clear cut Allied victory but I did get some benefits for my losses.

Hoepner is getting some payoff for his air campaign a large number of Japanese planes and pilots are gone. But the ships are not scoring, I don't think Hawker has lost a single vessel in surface combat.

Well allied fighters will be scarce for several months so that the Japanese will have time to retrain their pilots. The problem with allies is that they have quantities of models each with only a driblet of reinforcements a month. PDU improve things but in a game of attrition the allies will run short of aircraft before the Japanese, the allied pilots will also get shot down before they have time to build experience.

So the Japanese meetgrinder will be halted for a while in Java but the cost in grinded units will be heavy.

The point is whether or not the extra time of resistance gained will compensate the extra losses suffered.[&:]

I think the key in allied defense is to know when to hold in order to delay the Japanese and when to withdraw to save forces tofight elsewhere in order to optimize the resistance power of your units and make the better use of them. Withdrawing without fighting is not a solution as is allows the Japanese to advance fast and without losses, fighting to the finish everywhere is not a solution either asit leads to increased allied losses and the time gained by the sacrifice of your units does not compensate for the time those units could have gained elsewhere if they had been evacuated before the end.
