In an e-mail from Speedy, he confirmed his target as Wake......is this bluff and double bluff.......no Armada in sight as of yet......either he is trying to confuse me, or thinks I can't stop him even if I do know........he may be right.......

A black day for this penguin....and for all penguin kind......an allied sub hit the newly upgraded Kaga...just off Iwo Jima......65 sys 45flt 50 fires....speed 8.....4 hexes from Iwo....I'm rushing 2xAR to try and salvage what is left....if I can stop her from sinking......she'll still be out of action till the war is effectively over.....
Meanwhile Speedy's CVs parked on top of I-36 who fired no fish.......just 3 hexes from Midway......
He is going for Wake..........I have guessed correctly....but I am a carrier down before the battle begins.......or perhaps we should say that Kaga is the first casualty of this Battle......
Despite this early setback....I will fight....
The odds were long to start with...they are longer now.........
I have 7-10 days before invasion......watch this space......

D@@n!! I was hoping to see an epic, and somewhat evenly matched battle. It looks like the advantage in sub warfare has decisively tipped to the Allies. Any clue on the nationality of the knave sub that wounded Kaga?
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

It was a U.S. Sub.......I'm sure Speedy will post it's name....the American subs become deadly once you hit '43...no more duds.....

TELL ME ABOUT IT PAUK........

Mike...if you look back a page you'll see my idea for the defence of Ein......with an OOB........it will be much the same, but since losing Kaga(not sunk, but 84sys at Iwo)....Akagi will be joined by Hiyo......and the escorts for the Hiyo AAG will become a 5th SAG....with one BB 2 CA and escorts........

The plan is much the same.....100+ Zeros flying LRCAP from marcus will cover the 4AAGs and 5 SAGs .the AAGs will stop 6 hexes from Wake with all the SAGs going in at once.....timing is all important...if I can hit him on night one, or at worst night 2 and get at least one SAGs to the Transports...then I can hurt him.....

I will then try to avoid a carrier engagement....which he would win...and retire with my cripples.....

Kaga Reached Iwo and is tied up alongside 2xARs float damage down to 35....but sys up to 93.......She'll be out for at least a year......2x ASW TFs headed to Iwo to escort her home once the Flt. damage is clear......
Midway is very quiet.........I wonder if all that activity was a bluff...or Speedy changed his target......I'm still primed for Wake.......but can switch at short notice.

Over the last 4 truns Speedy's subs have on average sunk 2 ships a turn......he is good with his subs......

The worst news is that Myk..... is out of supply........4 turns ago there was about 6,000 supply there....now none........I don't think he knows...'cause if he did he would attack.......1 Tank Div and 3 more Inf. Divs. heading from China to push the railine.....

He continues to bomb Burma with 300-400 aircraft every turn.......

Speedy's Wake Op. has begun.....

2 turns ago.....My Betty's from Wake hit what looked to be a supply TF.....badly damaging a AK and 2 TKs......waifs and strays.....as this turn...

I lost over 100 Zeros and Betties to Speedy's CAP.....he lost about 10 aircraft.......all of my surving airgroups apart from 2x Zero sqdrns have Evac'd Wake...
My sub picket line(8 SS) hit one DD....at the cost of 3 SS damaged, 1 badly.......

Despite being scared by the wieght of Speedy's attack force........all my forces sailed from Guam and Saipan.....3 days out.....
Will post maps after next turn....
