There´s a saying; The winner never starts the war.

Looks to be very true in this scenario....
"Those men on white horses are terrifying...but we´ll match´em with our lancers!"

The attack on Moscow has paused, as our panzers do not have the strength yet after a week out of supply to cross the last river before Moscow. We only caused the feared "missing person syndrome" to a tank and a normal army on our eastern flank The soviet front now has a quite big hole east of Tula. The temptation is great to continue our offense through this hole... Until next week the O.K.H. wil deceide this question.

2 infantry armies, one from the north and one the south, struck behind the panzers east of Tula, striking the puppet Hungarian forces holding the rear. Also, the leading panzers advanced out of CAP and were hit hard by the remnants of the Red Air Force bombers. However, the follow on attack by 2 infantry and 1 tank armies failed to destroy one exposed panzer corps. This failure was a major blow to Stalin's hopes of stopping the German offensive at the gates of Moscow.

The O.K.H. strongly denies any rumors about soviet defensive victory in the first battle of Moscow. Our forces did not even want to capture Moscow this summer. We will first secure the flanks and go back to the hard work of destroying soviet armies as first priority. We now have a bridgehead which allows as to destroy countless soviet armies. The soviet losses will rise from the low levels which they are right now. We destroyed the two encircling armies, and witdrew the panzers to safety.
(Besides propaganda: Red Army defeats axis infantry whenever it wants... I'm afraid of a large scale stalingrad like battle, so I gave up moscow for now. I'm afraid that the red army will manage to cut of my panzers one day with large enough forces... So I go back to trying to inflict as much damage as I can, without going for territory. The red army is just to dangerous.)

Stalin and the Red Army commanders are cheered by the slight withdrawal of the enemy south of Moscow, but the situation is grim as most replacement divisions are being rebuilt at less than half strength. The tank situation is good, with over 80 IS II tanks being produced each week and large numbers of T34s (nearly 200), but the Red Air Force is weak, especially in bombers.

The long flanks of the enemy are the only thing keeping them from walking right into Moscow.

O.K.H. has deceided that the strong formations of the enemy in the middle front have to be annihilated. Doing so will free the western flank of our bridgehead of destiny and break the resistance of the red army. The panzers turned 90 degree's and began to prepare for the big offense. 2 panzer korps with massive air support started the first forcefull recon of the enemy lines, and achieved a small breakthrough near Bryansk as 2 soviet armies retreated. The jet's flew some fighter-bomber missions against soviet airfields, to weaken soviet fighter defense which grew stronger and stronger again in the past few weeks. More then 500 soviet planes were destroyed, but we sadly lost over 200 planes In the centre army group soviet war prisoners began to clear of the rust from the panzers which rested there for a long time. Hopefully they will be able to join the attack from the other side next week.

Did my email reach you? I was hoping you could email me a copy of this scenerio (old one or lattest version if done) as a friend and myself wish to play it.
It's opportunities for drama in the unique start and aggressor set it apart.

Your battle with tom1939 is certainly a struggle of epic proportions with a new twist.

Comrade Stalin, and the senior Generals, were surprised but happy upon noticing the change in direction of the Germans attacks toward the west. The sacrifice of numerous brave soldiers to MPS (missing person syndrome) proves to have born fruit, at least in the short run.

At this turn of events, Stalin has ordered planning for a massive surprise attack to be carried out in early December, 1944, through the Pripyet marsh area to Odessa. He is predicting that the invaders will have paused their attacks at this point and be ripe for a counterattack that will cut off their entire southern wing.

Bryansk is captured and 2 soviet armies is destroyed this week. The panzer forces arrived with full force and punched a great hole into soviet defense. Hopefully in a few weeks large amount of soviet troops will be destroyed, allowing to shorten the flanks and go back to the Moscow capturing game. Soviet airfields were attacked again by the jets. The soviet armor unpleasantly surprised our armor this week as it caused more damage to our panzers then it suffered in open battle We guess we should stop using this crap nashorn jpz's but sadly the company director producing these has great political influence And the soviet armor has slowly got much closer to our panther tanks quality wise.

Comrade Stalin, backing off from his hold at all costs orders, allowed the threatened bulge south of Gomel withdraw, as Gomel itself is in range of a 160 km lunge from the German Panzers near Bryansk. Production of the latest equipment is proving adequate, but manpower is now in severe shortage, with men throughout the country refusing the call to arms, and patriotic firing squads taking care of those caught while shirking their duty to the Party and the country.

The red army retreats fast, but not fast enough One army was forced to surrender, and many others were beaten badly. Soviet losses were over 3000 squads this week. Comrade Stalin named the comrade that commanded the tank army that cut the rail lines to the enemy panzers Hero Of The Misplaced Persons, putting off the inevitable for another week or two. This week, things were fairly quiet at the front, with the soldiers watching the skies for rain clouds. However, none arrived.

Comrade Stalin ordered a limited attack against the enemy spearheads closest to Moscow. Although some success was achieved by them, throwin back and enemy infantry korps and isolating the 48th Panzer korps, the attacks were bloody and did nothing but gain a little more time, hopefully.

Great Victory! The counterattacking soviets were completely annihilated by the panzers. 2 soviet armies shattered, 1 tank army surrendered, and the strong Smolensk garrison army surrendered as well. As result Smolensk and Vyazma is now in german hand. Our jets strafed soviet airfields again. In one place soviet resistance was very heavy (and succesfull). So we sent in the heavy bombers which suffered much greater losses then the usual to the new yak9T's and p47D's. We are forced to ask the U.S. to stop selling this p47D's to the soviet's or else... we might be forced to buy all of them instead of the soviets

The Red Air Force at this point needs experience fighter pilots, not more planes, and is seeking the formation of the USVG (US Volunteer Group) to fly existing planes rather than more planes, even those as good as the American planes.

Back at the front, defensive lines were adjusted and minor attacks launched, but otherwise the men are hoping for blizzards to strike and slow down the enemy onslaught.

The capitalist germany continued the offense in this good weather. On the Moscow front the panzer commanders rebelled against orders to leave Moscow alone! One shock and one normal army was destroyed as the panzers went 2 hexes closer to Moscow. In the long resting central front our panzers went into attack again and encircled one normal and one tank army. We will crush the rebellion of the panzer commanders soon (the glory went into their heads and they think they only need to walk into Moscow), and go back to the old strategy of troop destruction.
