Well, I just received the 'official" phone call. I will be in Omaha Nebraska on 1 May , 2010. [X(]

Well. Do you want congrats or condolences? [:D]

Condolences. It's a awfully short time for moving. I guess I can forget about sleep or the Thread for the next two months.....[:(]

What will you do while you're there?

My cash reserves just increased by DKK50,000 (approx. $10,000). My mom called up and told me she put the money in a new bank account, and if I showed up at my bank and signed my name on a dotted line, it was mine.

I said "thank you" and "is there something you want to tell me?"

She's just fine; apparently she thought it was time for an advance on my inheritance. Who am I to argue?

Ooooh. Apparently T's parents are loaded. [:D]

Some letters and sounds they couldn't make. Like a Japanese trying to say "TH" or "Lolapaloosa" or some r's. Or any one but a native Spanish speaker trying to do a "rolling r".

Bah...I have no trouble with the Spanish rolling r using the front of the tongue. It's the German one with the back of the tongue that hellishly difficult to do while speaking.

My trouble with German is separating one word into the 5 individual words they started off with. [:D]

That's nice [:)]

Me and my sister took a little different approach. A couple of years ago when our parents retired, we told them that 1/ we both are doing quite well and 2/ we owe them so much that we can never fully repay. With that in mind, we told them that we do not expect any inheritance and that they should instead do all that traveling that they never had time to do when we were kids. I have now lost count on how many trips they have done all over the world [:)]

Thats awesome Per. Hope to Thread I have a chance to do that somewhere in my lifetime.

I wondered where all the pudding has been coming from lately. [:D]

Never heard it called that. I've heard "cabbage", "cheddar", "Bacon", even "scratch", although I'm not sure how the last one relates. [:D]

Sound exactly like my parents [:)][8D]. It was a good thing when my sister produced some grandkids so they got a new outlet for their generosity. [:)]

You ever think of joining that particular party? [;)]

Philistine. Every Trekkie knows she was built (the D model) at Utopia Planitia shipyards, not on Earth.

True. But 1701 was built in San Fran. [:)]

I'd be more worried that we need a nuclear war first, and Khaaaaaan!!!! should've turned up 10(?) years ago.

I wouldnt say "need". The Eugenics Wars should be coming along shortly as well, though.

Flashes of Keanu Reeves' contributions to modern cinematography...

The similarities are eerie. For example, our acting careers are in about the same place at the moment. [:D]

Interesting personal provenance, Steve. I too descend from Quebecois bloodlines (50%) on my mother's side. Technically, I'm the product of a first generation immigrant mother. Before that, GGGPs emigrated from Sweden (GGM), Germany (GGF) and France (GGGPs mom's side). There's some rogue Irish blood in there somewhere too (isn't there always?).

My familial involvement in warfare is much more modern, I'm afraid. Nothing as interesting as knowing your roots back to where we North Americans were fulfilling our manifest destiny and picking off redcoats for a living.

Its great that you guys are up on your heraldry. [:)]

Not sure what you mean - I'm playing the "bachelor uncle" role to the hilt if that's what you mean. [;)]

If you're hinting at grandkids then yes, I had that on the way as well but we had a miscarriage. That was some 20 years ago however. After that, not much, no. If I find the right woman, then maybe. Problem is I'm starting to get "a little outdated" [;)]

You were outdated after year 34, don't ya know? We only live relevant lives from 25 to 34....or at least that's what the marketing dweebs say. [:D]
