My guess is that, unless Barcelona implode, it will end v. badly at Madrid... and within a year too.

Good news, indeed. Now let's see how much of this aggressive anti-corruption campaign is carried out versus swept quietly under the rug.

Big Q now is who takes over after Blatter? Will it be the Saudi Prince?

I don't think it matters for the moment. What matters is that Blatter goes, they make a decision on Russia and Qatar quickly, and that anyone associated or tainted with the Blatter regime is removed.

True, although I doubt they will do anything about Russia tbh. For the sake of the workers and the players, I really hope Qatar is removed (it was actually too hot in the US WC, Qatar is gambling with the players' health).

But at the same time, I think that finding a replacement for Blatter is an important message to send out to the world, they need someone that is not linked too closely to any questionable regime, and that is why the Saudi Prince might not be the best choice (womens rights in Saudi...).

My vote goes to Collina, noone would dare to anything wrong with that guy staring at you [:D][:D]

The Champions final. Or the World Cup that begins in Canada. Take your pick. [:)]

Womens World Cup?
Indeed. But since there has been orders issued that it must be pointed out that it is a tournament for Women I, of course, rebel.

Seems to be many contenders this year. Japan seems strong. France, England or Sweden might rise to the challenge if their teams remain intact. What about Brazil? And Canada?

None of the above, and definitely NOT England [:-] - US or Germany.

Meanwhile, looks like I am right about the Champions League. Barce have scored too early - definitely a win for the Old Lady now. So in other words, the Grand Old Lady predicts a win for the Old Lady [:)]

Half-Time: England 0-1 France

Got to say, England have been totally out-classed and it should be 2 or 3 for the French. The French goal came from a stupid mistake, and there have been loads of those. I suspect England will run out of steam in the second half and it could be embarrassing.

Hey! It's just like the men's version [:(]

But more importantly.... why are we playing in all white? Why are the French in all blue? Shouldn't there be a law against this or something.

Listen it's real simple England: White shirts, blue shorts, white socks
France: Blue shirts, white shorts, red socks.

Geez......[8|]

It was 0-1 in the end so business as usual for English football [:D]

Well done to the French - and Mme Bolleau in particular [:)]

France is one of the favourites to win the tournament and I suspect that the English focus always have been to win the two other matches in the group.
