I think that would only be fair to Faber.[:D]
For what we are about to receive, may we be truly thankful.

Go for it, Speedy. Might be interesting, but then it'll probably be more of the usual penguin beating. [:(]
Are you guys going to stop when you reach the auto-victory?
So far it's 2-0 in favour of a raid.
Of course the game may end by the time my CV's get there but I will look back to see the poll result in about 16 hours time. Then i'll act on what the forum want. After following our war for almost 2 yeras it's only fair[:)]
We'll probably be ending at time of auto-victory. We're going to play Campaign Series unttil AE comes out........

I've been lurking on both AAR's for a while.... I think you owe him a raid.
Fortis cadere, cedere non potest!
RE: 14-16th March 1945
I'm reminded of Field Marshal Slim, who decided the best thing to do was continue with scheduled invasions despite knowing the Japanese surrender was coming, because it was easier than changing plans. I think you should carry on fighting as though you were unsure that the Japanese would surrender, which could well mean a carrier raid, bombardment and the like.
RE: 14-16th March 1945
No! Do not give the enemy a chance of achieving anything remotely like a victory. Remember the bayoneting of the sick in Singapore hospitals, the Bataan death march etc. Make the world safe for exports from Detroit, bomb all the factories until use of the sites as rice paddies becomes the only feasible option.
On the other hand, once you have achieved unconditional surrender via auto victory, then you can indulge yourself with the CV raid.

I vote - go for it! Let's see a raid! End the war with a little excitement. It'll entertain the readers at least...

RE: 17th March 1945
is it almost worth getting wasp sunk so you can get a better carrier? or is that just gamey?
I feel like I'm Han Solo, and you're Chewie, and she's Ben Kenobi, and we're in that bar.

At this point in the war, I don't think it'll really matter.

RE: 17th March 1945
Holy shi* I was not expecting this now. I achieved 2:1 victory today (not at month end as I thought) and the Japanese formally surrendered to all Allied terms.
I feel a little numb now....such a great battle by both of us with us both having our moments of brilliance.
Faber is the most honourable and decent fellow i've ever played against and i'm looking forward to continuing our gaming in the Campaign Series and then an AE rematch[8D][&o]
To Faber[&o]
To my fellow readers I don't know how many or few there have been out there but thanks to all of those who have read and contributed. You have made writing this a pleasure[&o][&o][&o][&o][&o]

Sing to the tune of "Man on the Flying Trapeze"
..Oh! We fly o'er the treetops with inches to spare,
There's smoke in the cockpit and gray in my hair.
The tracers look fine as a strafin' we go.
But, brother, we're TOO God damn low...
