Hmmm, banned from ogame.  Unauthorized IP check deactivation, despite the fact it's been deactivated for ages now [:@]

Yeah, you have to get permission to deactivate that ahead of time. I had a 2-3 day time out for that back when I started. [8|]

So why didn't I get a time out two months ago when I deactivated it then? [8|]

They don't notice until they decide to go looking. Or, in my case, I read in the forums that you need to get permission to turn it off, when mine was already off, so I asked a question about it. I'm a dummy. [:D]

Any Threadsters looking for a PBEM oppo?
If this oppo(rtunity) is still open, I'd be interested in a PBEM against an available Threadster.

Well, my new computer is up and running... Sort of...

There's weirdness with my hard drives. I can only use one of them; while Windows can see the other one in the Device Manager, it hasn't been assigned a drive letter, and thus I can't install anything on it.

Any ideas?

Formatting now. This Windows 7 business is mighty fancy when you're stepping straight over from XP.

In retrospect, it was probably a good thing I didn't get it on Wednesday. I would have found it nearly impossible to go to work on Thursday with this thing on my floor...[:D]

That one hits close to home. I just had a major battle with my doctor. She said I had to give up my once a day glass of wine. Knowing that she is extremely anti-alcohol due to her religious belifs , I finally got her to admit that she was severly over medicating me with more than twice the statins I even remotely might need. I told her if I couldn't have one glass of wine a day than I didn't want any medication.....and proceeded to walk out. She agreed that if she cut my dossage (which she should have already) that I could have my wine. And this is the person who is supposed to make my health decisions?

Guh....I hope she's Mormon. I would hate to think she is of my faith. [:(]

Of course not. But this is the Internet, so believe whatever you want.

On second thought, I'd rather you tell me. I have an easier time getting the unfortunate mental images out of my head that way.

This type of ignorance is a special , most dangerous type. He's perfectly able to assimalate , but choose to deliberatly to remain ignorant. One could almost say Arrogantly ignorant". [X(]

No, these scumbags are gleefully misinformed. They start with their prejudices and gather all the scurrilous nonsense they can find that validates their wrongness.

Unfortunately, that is an almost universal trait. The only mitigating factor is that most prejudices are fairly harmless. For instance, I'm prejudiced against broccoli. It tastes like something Kermit dropped out his bunghole in my little fantasy world. So I gleefully avoid all the data pointing to its healthful properties and cling steadfastly to my complete abstinence.

Different in kind, yes. By a great margin. But not really different in the unlogic used to reach it.

The Martian and I are in agreement? This is truly a momentous day.
