Does anyone have a copy of this?

My "Invasion Planning Sheet": http://rapidshare.de/files/31228230/WiTP_Invasion_Planning_Sheet.doc

It was created by Dtravel but the link is no longer active.

Great thread, thank you VSWG.
I have not played in a while and this gets me back up to speed on the game and strats.
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

ORIGINAL: Apollo11

Hi all,

Thanks for this collection Martin - greatly appreciated!

Few more threads to look up:

#1
"Lord Calidor" made WinWord (".doc") document with superb knowledge gathered through forum - this one single document is gold mine itself!

#2
I fixed Japanese production flow chart - good way to understand Japanese economy.

#3
I made at least 2 more comprehensive bombing test threads (apart from te one you found). I will try to find those for you...

#4
I made Excel (".xls") document with list of all leaders together with their unit assignemens for scenario #15 (something rather useful and never before attempted).

Leo "Apollo11"

Hi Leo,

#1
I remember Lord Calidor's readme, it was one of the first documents I read after buying the game - thanks for reminding me. I'll add it just below the Wiki Manual, but they should be really combined into a single "project".

#2
I think I linked to the fixed flow chart? Is there a newer version?

#3
Added to the list! [:)]

#4
I thought about adding a "useful files" section, but it would be a copy of Spooky's "Files/Scenarios" page. Not sure ehat to do, for now I'll add them to the game mechanics section.

Oliver Heindorf,
I was wondering... As long as the stickied thread list is so cluttered with old topics, maybe it would be better if this thread remains in the forum, and is regularly bumped...?

krishub1,
I have never seen this file before... send him a PM, he's a regular here.

Gem35,
thanks for the kind words. [:)]

Feel free to copy and paste from the threads into the appropriate areas of the wiki so gallantly posted as the first link. I have threatened to delete the wiki soo many times since no one really contributes to it any longer, but since my web host trippled the size of the server space with no change of price, I can´t say it´s an issue any longer

Anyways, myself and a few others used to scan the forums for interesting threads and "move them" to the wiki. It´s really simple to do, and once you are registerred you can format and do almost what you want

[X(] I simply refuse to give up I guess, but then I play Japan in my WitP games as well....

oh yes...the top-list is cluttered with out of date stuff, I mentioned it before but nothing was done...for example, why we still need a review topic sticky [8|]...this forum hasnt a good house cleaning staff [:'(]

I think you should keep all the good links in post #1 by yourself ( editig every single time instead of posting a new answer ) becasue elsewhere we have sooner or later 500 posts and ppl then get boring searching this thread with endless numbers of pages [;)]

edit in gemran : kann garnicht sagen wie geil die idee ist und das was alles gutes gefunden wurde, habe ich mir schon immer gewünscht ! [&o]

Oh, but I do edit all new links into the first post! I just thought that some people might want to know what links I added without being forced to sift through the whole list again.

500 posts with new entries? Are you sure this forum produced that many "Must read" threads?! [:'(]

Widell,
I just might do that someday. I've already earmarked some shorter threads for removal, after their content has been pasted into the Wiki. I've also got some ideas regarding this list and the Wiki, I'll PM you and WhoCares sooner or later.

I am/was actually no more responsible for the Wiki than anybody else on the forum - I just tried to promote it from time to time and made some entries in it as I like the idea of manual Wikis so much, but otherwise it is all Widells child. Oh, and I came up with the logo [8|]

Regarding making a picture a link, you can just embed the image tag into the link tag:

Code: Select all

[link=http://witp.kodapa.com/index.php?title=Main_Page][img]http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/7240/iwantyouwitpsmall8ey.jpg[/img][/link]

Hey, I´m just hosting it, and promoting it now and then. Who knows, maybe some day it´ll see more activity. Good thing is I can keep it at the server it´s at for now since the provider upgraded the web space to some 2 GB's. PM me, or send an e-mail to witp at kodapa dot com and we´ll go from there...

BTW, the logo is probably the coolest thing on the wiki. I think it´s great to be honest

I think it would help if you added any additional links to your intial post and at the end of the link add the date you added it to the intial list (possibly in bold or color).
You should add a list of possible mods like CHS, RHS, Nik, etc. And some that go to things like Bodhi Utility that some players fine useful.

I have a Word document that I have cut and paste in that has many older post that I thought were useful. However, I haven't updated in months, so I like your idea. [:D]

WhoCares,
thanks, it worked! [:)]

Widell,
I'm working on it, but don't hold your breath. I'm pretty busy at the moment.

ny59giants,
Mods: Will do.
Links to files: I dunno, it would be a duplicate of Spooky's List of Files/Scenarios. But if there's demand for a shorter list...
Edit: Can you PM me your text file?

You might want to add some AARs as well:

Certainly PzB. And his 4 opponents.

Others that must be included (IMO): Tom Hunter's Lunacy in the Pacific. Dude vs. Zeta. Amiral Laurent's Bloody Pacific. Sneer vs. Raver.

I'd also like to see my personal favorites: pauk vs. Andy Mac (both sides). Speedy vs. Fabertong (again both sides).

I'm sure I'm neglecting some worthwhile additions, but that would be because I simply haven't read them.

Found some more strategy threads:

"Attack on the USSR": More a historical discussion, but some strategic advice can be found here, too.
tm.asp?m=982100

"Unusual Jap opening": Bypassing Luzon/Philippines.
tm.asp?m=990415

"Invading Java"
tm.asp?m=1019976

"A northern Allied strategy?"
tm.asp?m=1007823

I thought about creating a second thread in the AAR forum, to which the people writing AARs could add some info about their games. Something like this:

AAR 1: player1 vs. player2
Map/Mod/scen used
game started on YYMMDD
shared AAR/AAR off limit for the opponent
Daily/weekly/monthly updates
screenshots yes/no
current game date
maybe short summary of major actions so far (India invaded, Chungking besieged, KB defeated...)
Link to Allied AAR
Link to Japanese AAR

I wouldn't write these summaries myself, however (too much work), but would ask the AAR writers to PM me their stuff and I'll add it to the first post (like in this thread). So it all depends on other peoples contributions... Old (inactive) AARs could be added in an archive section.

So what shall it be?! Some simple links in this thread, or a separate thread in the AAR forum?
