Very nice fremen [8D][;)][&o]

A project like this would have been so much easier if Matrix would just make the WitP EDITOR available to UV [8|]

Keep up the good work.

Great work ...From my point of view, first do it working, let's say with what-if unhistorical campaign. Creating more historical campaigns will help you people here ... [;)]

Awesome :)

Suggestion for subs in shallow water problem:

Make all the water hexes deep. This ONLY affects sub combat so it doesn't matter ... The map graphic can still show as being shallow.

Hi Fremen,

Looks awesome [&o]

some questions

What are the start and end dates?

Could you post the east/west ends of the map area and how far north does the map reach?

WRT the AI could you not use the scripting that comes with the editor ?

cheers

What are the start and end dates?

BTM, the game runs between January 1,42-January 1-43.

Could you post the east/west ends of the map area and how far north does the map reach?

The map zone is: LEFT X:0 TOP Y: 97 RIGHT X: 71 and BOTTOM Y: 136

Limit north runs between Bourdeaux-Torino-Venezia-Crimea.
Limit south runs between Sahara desert-north of Red Sea.
No finish adding bases, last base on West is Gibraltar, last base on East is Haifa.

WRT the AI could you not use the scripting that comes with the editor ?

I have no idea.

Oh well I'm very new to the Pacific... I only read about it after buying this game but I'm quite knowledgeable about the Eastern Front - and thus the Germans and theatres they went to war in.

I would, quite easily, be able to tell you the make-up of the German and Italian units in-theatre to the accuracy required for WiTP. If I haven't lost one of my references I'd also be able to tell you which units appeared where and when. I could also define a lot of the German and Italian (and British and american) devices as well. The main problem would be that the armoured combat model is quite weak but c'est la vie.

Ok I just had a quick look.
I can give you the Italian and German command structures ( but not some of the places those HQs were stationed at), including leaders for the army and aeronautical units on the Italian side as well as all units which served in the area and when they became active as well as a lot of device definitions for all sides... I have quite a bit of weapons data for the various sides. My time is a bit tight right now but if I understand properly this is something which will be a half year+ in the making and that's a very good timeline for me to work with.

Oh one other thing... I have Groener's work on Waships of the German Navy 1885 to 1945 which is an absolutely excellent source and eminently capable of defining every ship in the German Navy which served in the Med to the detail required for WiTP... It also lists all of the upgrades these ships would have had, when they had them and precisely what was changed. So, I pretty much have Germany and the land forces of Italy sown up if you want.

P.s. Why only start it in 1942? Starting it at the time when initial offensives against the Italians were first seriously contemplated in December 1940 would be much more interesting and give the German player a real feeling of how desperately needed the German intervention was and how it changed the dynamic of the war.

Many thanks Nemo!
Need all help possible.

I decided start on january 1942 because the WITP start in 421207. Many devices, leaders, bases, ship classes, etc...have a start date accordingly in the editor. If my scenario start in 1940, many of those features, its sure, would give problems. All the material italian/german is all new, but the british side use all the "original" material/devices of the WITP. My intention was save some time.

BTW, i not sure if the game editor allow the use of pre-42 dates...

I've tested pre-42 start dates and noted no problems at all ( so long as you maintain consistency in your device dates).

They were listening. There is an Alpha Med Map out there to boot (I have it somewhere I think). The limitations of the land combat model is what I believe shelved the project. Maybe this mod of Fremen's will get the same support as TankerAce's WPO and become an official release.

Let's hope so. Fremen, if you need any help with Naval OOBs let me know. I may be able to help with land OOBs too.
