ya I used to have AVG 7.1, but then they basically forced me up to 7.5 if I wanted continued support...

A topic close to my heart. My dislike for IE7. It has slowed down my computer considerably. So if I just uninstall IE7 it will revert back to IE6? I have been waiting to make sure I don't screw up my computer by uninstalling it.
But I can't take the poor performance issue anymore!

I had the opposite happen with IE7 - it sped up all of the websites I visit, especially The Depot, which I had almost given up hope of connecting to. I have had no issues with speed at all. Quite happy.

I downloaded the demo of PC pitstop and others suggested in these threads. The scan found 2,034 errors, registry, cookies, ect. So it may not be IE7. The demos only give you a scan but will not eliminate them. PC pitstop did eliminate 15 of the errors and that seemed to make a difference. So I believe I wil need to purchase one of these programs unless there is a good freeware program.
I use Avast and SEad-ware(for the cookies) these programs never found as many errors as the demo downloads.
