the fire range has always been 0-49

Don't think it was changed. Looks like a glitch of some sort.
Big one then, 'cause besides the two ships with fire in the thousands he's got at least three other ships with fire levels over 49.
This game does not have a learning curve. It has a learning cliff.

Any bugs I report are always straight stock games.

You should change that to "he had". Deep ocean water put those fires out quickly... [;)]

Probably is a glitch, but one I found amusing. I'm glad I wasn't aboard one of those subchasers.

Dang - happened again. I think I'm learning I need to spend some more time suppressing the CD guns of anywhere I invade.

This reminds me of the line from Kids in the Hall - someone was talking to a pyromaniac and asked them how they liked their job - and got the reply "Very nice... everyone is so flammable!!" [X(] [:'(]

Well, you know they used fire ships up through the Napoleonic era. Maybe you are getting some of those[:D]
For what we are about to receive, may we be truly thankful.

Yea, if the Combined Fleet decides to come visit it'd be nice to see a combat report:

Night Time Surface Combat
Japanese Ships
BB Yamato, LCM hits 1, on fire, heavy damage
Allied Ships
LCM No. 493

Fires can grow beyond 99, the display is supposed to be capped at 99, or 49 or whatever. It's a glitch/bug/oopsie.
