Local Yokel: 2 x Novice = Self destruction of Japanese Empire [:D][:D][:D]

Hmmm. Good points. Basically I need to expand the Aichi factories (or maybe convert 1 more factory to Aichi) I'am definately going to build up Tony's so the 90 engines per month is a bit low --> thus it will be put on my expansion list.

I read about the armament factories and will do an expansion in due course.

The maing thing for now is to get solid fighters and bombers into action. My Zero pool is not good shape at the moment.

I have always thought that Oscars aren't worth it. (Don't know about CHS though)... my initial plan was to change some Nates into Zero's/Betty's. This would give me better ranged aircraft which could be very useful around the map.

LBA is definately an danger in when thinking about allies. Allthough I would like to go for Palembang and Tarakan early. Those bases would also give me an good airfields closer to DEI. (I don't want him to reinforce the place)

The current Malaya campaign is going well though... [:D][:D] ...I'am hoping to cut off those allied troops in the North. Those British units that retreated from Kota Bharu are longway from Singapore too! [;)]

There was a lot of commotion on decks at KB. Japanese intelligence indicated that there areUS CS ships anchored at Pearl Harbour. Could this mean that allies have moved their CV's already into Pearl Harbour???

Well we are about to find out since the radio message from Tokyo ordered KB to turn around.

Thus this means that next turn the might of KB wil be unleashed againts Pearl Harbour one more time!

Lets see how things turn out.

Mini KB penetrated the US submarine net at Luzon. It will head out to refuel and than join up into action.

Looking forward to that PH strike, although I doubt that Lady Lex or Enterprise are there it could be Saratoga from San Diego. Someones got to count hexes here and hope for the best... ;)

It would be an bonus if either Lady Lex or Enterprise would be on the harbour though! [:D] ...hmmm... Saratoga might have reached the Pearl Harbour too... [:D]

I'am definately waiting for the results from next turn. I would like to see what kind of carnage this stike can cause. Keep in mind that the game date is already 17th of December.

..propably ain't going to see the turn until morning though due to timezones.

Ok. This make the total strikes againts Pearl Harbour to 5!!! Only capital ship still to be sunk is BB Oklahoma. None of these ships have at least yet been confirmed sunk! [&:] ....I guess that shows current inability of KB to conduct serious port strikes. [:-]

Unfortunately our Intel was not correct from last turn as you can see no enemy CV's were docked at Pearl Harbour or at least they were not hit.

Either way these 5 strikes have been very disappointing considering the end results. [8|] Time to retire and commit our naval assets in other operations.

Other news

IJA troops have now entered Georgetown. Only base force present there due to the fact that enemy is retreating towards Singapore.

I have sent several IJA/IJN base force units into frontline bases. Time start immediately building up defensive perimeter too.

IJN will be conducting operations againts Singkawang. (screenshot will be posted after this combat report)

In China I'am still reorganizing my troops and pushing those guerilla units out. The battle at Hong Kong is currently stalemate.

I have changed several HQ's for Claude squadrons so I can deploy these planes soon. I think I can convert first Claude's to Zero's next turn. [:)]

Grand strategy

Here are some of my early thoughts about this game.

I'am really hoping that I can conquer Philippines and Malaya in January 1942, (At least one the these objectives needs to be met) Simply because I want move againts Java in the beginning of February 1942.

I have already started establishing bases in Borneo. More airbases will be captured since the Idea is to launch early naval strikes againts Transport/Combat ships in this region. I will conduct massive airstrikes againts Java which will neutralize Dutch + Other airforces in the area. In support of this operation at least Mini KB will be deploeyed along with proper BB TaskForces.

Start building up the defensive perimeter. I know what the allies are capable of so I have few ideas which will eventually hopefully stop them cold.

Depending on the timetable at Java I'am still very eagerly looking at Russia. However I need to move sizeable amount of aircraft to support this operation. The biggest thing if I get around to it is to neutralize every Russian airfield immediately and thus annihilate the whole russian airforce. I need the complete air dominance IF I'am to move ahead with this plan.

Start producing better ranged aircraft. Already have some Zero's coming from pipelines which is excellent. One thing allies don't have is good ranged fighters.

Basically not to screw up the Japanese economy. I haven't made many changes to it... Don't know if it is good or bad though. Once I secure big resource centers I will immediately start shipping Oil and resources to Osaka and Tokyo. (I guess these are the main harbours from which AI will distribute the materials elsewhere)

Basically I don't want over extend. There really is no need for that since I know how hard it can be to againts level 9 fortifications day after day later on. (Really a pain) ...as for how much territory I want well that really depends how things played out in the spring of 1942. I have ideas on defensive perimeter but too early to say anything about... except that Chuck wohn't be coming into range of Home Islands anytime soon. Lets just say that West Coast is safe at least.

I don't build up places where I have no intention to be. There seems to be quite a lot of 0 level airfields around which is good. Meaning that allied need CV cover at first.

What to do with the KB??? I'am kind of aggressive player if situation allows it BUT I'am not going to do anything hasty and stupid.

Aiming to have fun and that is why I want to try stuff. [:)]
