How about an update VI?

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

and now to confuse the issue

the 12th will recon AFs with in 375 miles, while the Med will recon troops with in 325 miles

you want to use the filters, I think the default is 1500, no need to recon AFs in Holland

who let the dogs out

as you may of seen, I plotted most of my raids for midday, I got a weather front over top of Sicly, good weather over all, but most of it is right over top of my bases, so by waiting, I let the clouds move on, still kind of heavy, but light enough for my recons to take off

here some recon birds in the air, with the plane art on (I tend to play with lines on, so forget, to take shots of the planes)

and just to show

this is what the lines would look like with the same shot

see how you can tell that those are not raids ?

escourt and recon will not have lines leading back to base, and since recon is normally only one plane, the box is very small

if you get good, you can pretty much tell how many planes are in the air, based on how big the box is

best laid plans and all

I didn't spot them two Gruppen based right on my flight path :)

which I did expect some trouble from the Balkan Coast

it was the AA at the RJ I wasn't planning on

took heavy AA losses (with in reason) and had a major air battle with the 17s

end of day, I came out the winner, but not by much

Hey Sarge, not to pick nits or anything, but why are you calling the Re.2005 the "Archer"? Shouldn't it be the "Sagitarrio" or something like that (my Italian is a bit rusty[;)])?

I wasn't expecting THAT much! Thanks! :)

You seem to do a lot of test-work right now... any special feature/balancing issue you're working on?

Also, are you seeing a tangible improvement on the AI so far?

from intell, I show the Axis have around 210 plane ready for combat, and since one of my goals is to keep the LW on the ground, the missions for today are to hammer his airfields, and since my Recon says it has found 119 of his planes on 4 fields, I will try and wear them fields out

of course the hassle is they are a little out of fighter cover range, and I am still waiting on my new fields to be repaired and opened up so I can move onto the mainland, but this is a chance to cut the enemy off at the knees, so got to try for it

so pretty much, that cuts out the Spits and P-40s, I got 2 squadrons of Mustang Is that I converted, so they will fly with the CW bombers, not a good plan, if they run into action !, but only expecting straggers

3 of the other Med bomber raids are going in clean

the plan, is for the 17s to draw the bulk of the fighters, and to be protected by the 38s

got sweeps by the A-36s, Mossies and P-47s, to try and ruin the day for anybody who tries to slip on home alone

oh, hitting a 5th field, already damaged and only showing 4 planes on it, but the idea is to have the bombers in the air, not the damage they will do

Sept 7th the first Main land AFs open up, 4 FGs and 8 Squadrons move to the mainland

by the 10th, another FG and 10 more Squadrons have made the move

the 11th, all of the 38s are on the mainland, the Foggia plain has opened up and the units in the boot have moved closer to the front

the Air War is soon to begin again
