Lex was pretty much doomed anyway but it was satisfying to see her downed by an Iboat, and before she got to Pearl

In one PBEM, O-19 put a pair of fish into Chitose (as a CS). No, she's not a CV, but she grows up to be a CVL in 1943, so sinking her pre-emptively is nice.

I'm not sure if this counts, since it's not sub vs. CVs.  But in one of my PBEM games (a rare incarnation of me as IJN) my subs sank 3 crippled BBs on their way to San Francisco (Arizona within sight of land).  It cost me definately 3, probably 5 subs (final two close to sinking) .  But what amounted to an intially mediocre KB strike vs. PH (only 1 BB sunk), having the subs take out 3 more, was "rather satisfying" to say the least.

in a cpl of my AI games, a boat put a fish into Junyo, which apparently resulted in a critical hit and she sank, and another time a sub put a single fish into yamato, and down she went, i think it was a mag explosion

it is deffinitely satisfying to see a sub put a fish or too, let alone sink a cap ship, tho it is rare, and more so in PBEM, if the capship is properly escorted, and movements are unpredictable and frequent, which makes it even more satisfying

brings more fuel to my thinking that u should be able to set a target priority list for subs, tankers, destroyers, carriers battleships, etc

I sunk several subs with my carrier´s SBDs and Vals, so does this count in sub vs. CV? [:D] Never sunk a CV with a sub though...

So far in every game I played, at least one, often two Japanese CVLs are severely damaged by Allied subs while roaming the DEI during the first months of the game; usually a BB or two as well. Never sank one, though.

This F#@$ing ship is the bane of my existence as an allied player. No, it actually doesn't do that much harm, but it always shows up in the DEI at the beginning of the game and NEVER gets hit...EVER. My Martins will sink merchies all around it but can't seem to hit her. [:@][:@][:@]

In one PBEM I had Searaven put a torp or two into Hiyo during a raid into the Indian Ocean. Hiyo sank about a week later. Much later in the game another sub helped finish off Junyo, though she had been previously damaged by a surprise port attack.

In another PBEM RO-64 finished off Formidable after she was damaged during a carrier battle. I've also had several shots at CVs that either missed or were duds.

I've never lost a CV to a sub though. I generally lose my CVs to commander incompetence. [:'(]
