So your problem was spontaneously solved by rebooting, with _no_ other changes?

As far as I can tell, yes...

I performed no device driver updates nor did I make any security changes since my ID was already part of the Local Admin group. As best I can remember, I installed the game and encountered the error. I then searched the Tech Support Forum for similar errors and checked the local admin rights. Having no success. I shut everything down and took the dog for a walk. I came back later restarted the computer and found that the game would now start. Hmm, maybe the dog figured something out when I wasn't looking. [:D]

One important thing to note is that I did not reboot my computer in between installing the game and attempting to play it the first time. Might that have been the cause of the error?

Thanks
Mike

Erik,
Me too. Had visions of uninstalling etc[:(]
If I do uninstall I presume that I can utilise the d/l set-up?

Yes, you can always reinstall from the downloaded file.

This is truly puzzling - I can't think of anything we're doing on install that would cause this error and then resolve on a reboot...

I also tried uninstalling and re-installing onto another drive just to make sure there wasn't any corruption in the installed files. Same thing.

I did a google on the error message and it looks like it might be a red herring. Lots of different problems network stuff, games, etc etc) coming up with the same message.

Marshall, what did you code this in? Perhaps that will help narrow things down a bit from the 23 pages of results.

Cheers

Erik et al,

I have had this happen again. Reboot cured it.
Not sure if this is relevant:
When loading programme a small black square appears - some sort of batch file perhaps? I think I saw a DOS (??) cmd: c\.... too fast to read anything else. Square disappears and load continues.

That is the security program executing to ensure that we all are following the rules :-)
That should be normal.

I had this occur early on as well.  I thought it was due to some kind of corruption left in memory by the game.  I had left an active game, hit "NEW GAME" and got the error shortly there after.  So I just went all the way out of the game, re-entered it and everything was fine.  I don't think its happened since day 1 or 2.

Just my two cents for what its worth...

Hello all:

I have been enlightened at the "Not enough storage space to process this command" error. It is definitely coming fom the O/S and it is the classic NOT_ENOUGH_MEMORY_ERROR in Windows language. The O/S is saying that there is not enough RAM nor HD space to utilize as Virtual storage for the RAM shortfall. The best I can say at this point is the old "Free up some RAM and HD space and reboot" then retry. I will continue to monitor this since I do not know where this is being caused at in the program. I am checking the mem available and I would think that you would see my error but it looks as if it just isn't making it there. I'm not considering this closed and in fact I'm running on a few lower line DELL laptops with XP as we speak since XP looks to be the inflicted O/S. I'll keep you posted on any findings.

Marshall, I got it to work tonight after I uninstalled a lot of junk as part of a periodic "house cleaning".

I suspect it may have been my anti-virus program - Trend Micro PC-Cillin 2007 - as I did uninstall it with some of the other (minor) apps that I got rid of. I put Pc-Cillin 2008 back on and it did work. The only other thing that I can think of that might have impacted things was "open office".

I can check and see if any of the apps that I removed have match up with any of the other folks who are having this problem. I would bet money on trend micro being the culprit!

Cheers!

I've got this problem too [X(](WIN XP Home SP2 on Sony Vaio, pleanty of HD and RAM space left). I also have Trend Micro 2007 installed and I tried just shutting it down but this didn't work[&:]. I'm not at all excited about uninstalling it, as I'm sure you can imagine, just to play this one game[:@]. I'll have to look into upgrading to the 2008 version. I wish I had a dollar for each hour that I've spent trying to get games that I've just purchased to work on my machine. In fact, even better would be if I had a dollar for each of the dollars that I've spent incrementally upgrading hard drives, power supplies, video cards, etc., etc., etc. to get whatever game I just bought to work. I would probably be better off just returning the game and buying a dog with the money that I saved on all the hardware and heartache. Ah well, we all have our habit then, don't we? Hopefully someone will figure something out that will help.

I tried disabling it and it didn't help. Uninstall it and then you can confirm if that's the problem (2007 is rather buggy and 2008 is an improvement so I'm told).

OK it looks like Trend Micro PC-Cillin is the culprit. I uninstalled V2007 and EIA worked, installed V2008 and it doesn't, uninstalled V2008 and EIA works. That resolves what is conflicting, I'm not sure how it is stopping EIA but I'll email them tonight.

Cheers!

Wow! Nice catch no dice. It looks like my wife will have to let go of her laptop for a while since I think she's using the Trend stuff as well. Haven't got a clue as to how it could affect EiANW??? If I find anything, I'll let you know...

ditto on the Trend Micro 2007 uninstall (EiA works) TM 2008 install (EiA no longer works, same memory error as before). I sure hope that a solution can be found for this because if it comes down to a decision on what to keep, TM2008 will win. Fortunately, this root cause only took me about 4 hours to find (thanks to no dice), diagnose, and confirm. No actual outlay of cash for new hardware or software. Will it be possible to get a refund for EiA if there is no solution?

Not sure what I could do to fix this. There is no error code coming up in my app and I certainly need the memory???

Unfortunately just temporarily shutting TM2008 down doesn't do it.

I'll fire off an email to trend about this sometime this weekend. I have their enterprise AV product on my work laptop and I'll see if it fails that product as well this weekend.
