Still more tests

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

if the recon info is good (?)

the way I do the quick figure, I have knocked down engine production from around 152 a day, down to 107 a day, airframe by about 10 a day, parts ? I have done more damage then the recon is reporting, so I think the recon info is very poor on parts

(I don't normally waste recon on the CFACs, there will almost always be enough parts)

and to show the raids, some good, some bad, hit and miss

disappointed in that IXth raid to the CFAC, that was a lot of bombers for next to nothing, should of went to a AF !!!

ahhh, I wanted that Junkers Engine plant, even worse, I thought I had hit it good, 3% Greesh

next day, bad weather in England and Germany, but decent in the Med

but, my sweeps turn out to be a slaughter for next to nothing in return, even worse, a Squadron of Canes fly into a flak trap, and then get bounced by a Staffel of G-55s (and I find another It Ace, 3 so far)

but the other side works out better, my tac raids on the northern It Airfields keeps the rest of the troops busy, while the XVth sneak on past towards Munster

of course, the XVth gets clouded out, even worse, a raid to the EFAC with 2ndary of Munster, and a raid to Munster with a 2ndary of Munster both get closed down, but to the good, I knock down lots of Enemy planes

ahhh

get good weather across the board

major raids, headed to the south, planning on hitting 2 8 point EFACs and the 20 point Rubber site

don't have enough fighters (or the range) to hit other targets in the area, so decided to use the rest to draw off the LW and hopefully, wear it down and take it out

in the north, the LW has a number of AFs with RR flak on them, time to find out what is there

plot a major Starburst raid, with 2 raids from the IXth to follow as they withdraw, and then a number of sweeps to hit as the raids leave the area, again a mini Starburst

(paths in the middle are the BC raids for the night)

and the raids in the south

which also have some raids in the Med, with the XVth again heading towards Munster again

ahhhhh

the LW don't want to play, the north works very well, if only more LW planes would be in the air, my bomb raids find some Heavy fighters, while the sweeps find the NJGs

which may mean I was doing better then I thought with my earlier raids, the LW needs some rest

Disappointing turn

nailed Mumford, knocked off 3 points of Engine production (dropped a size 8 to a 5)

bombed a Jet Factory that wasn't online yet (well, in fact that is good, it will delay it longer from coming online) but missed the Target I was sent to

missed Munster again

BC went to Essen to try and knock down a big Fuel factory, and got hammered, but painted Hallie bright red

both sides need a rest and I am seeing somethings I need to rework

Sorry, 12 hour days and 7 days a week are again kicking in, so some of my time is being used up for silly stuff

basicly, back to reseach and notes, I got tons of notes, my kid bought me paper and printer paper for Christmas (Wife thought it was dumb, I thought it was a nice gift, the kid knows what I want and need)

but overall, I am happy with the last few tests, found and fixed some silly stuff, and loaded up Harley and Wannyo with more stuff to look at

Question Especially on the way in why is the squadron leader bouncing a single fighter???? Thats the job of the other guys - the squadron leaders are supposed to lead the big scraps.......He can't
be leading he's chasing single fighters all the time.......Since we flew in the finger 4 like the germans did when the squadron leader commits shouldn't all 4 go????????That might help on the leader loss thing.

Well, one hassle is, check out the Squadron and Group leaders, most times, they are the hunters

within reason (hmm don't know what I hit) the attackers will attack with what numbers they have that are needed, so when you see 1 plane is bounceing, that is what is being attacked, one plane

I have wanted to try and get it so the smallest unit is a pair, as you would always try to keep a wingman and leader together, but...

still running the same game, wanted to see what happens down the road

Mar 27-28 or so

ended the major AirCraft ind attacks when I posted, have now started to work over OilR and OilS

got hurt with some real bad weather in the Med, about 5 days in a row, but the crews needed some rest and refitting

here is the damage screen

(got it split, left is Mar 8th, and the right is current)

an oddity there, for OilR, I seem to be not as good as I was when I started, but I think that is more bad recon, and now having better recon (game starts the area around Hamburg is pretty beat up)

yes we did

also part of what I am still running this test for, to see what and how the BAF comes in and works out

if the AI or the player defends the area more then they did in real life, we are going to have more air to air then we should

Please take this post in the way in which it is intended, as constructive criticism. I only write because I respect your work and want to understand your posts. I appreciate what you are doing with this game and I appreciated your excellent work on Forge of Freedom.

You simply must, however, make a minimum effort with respect to spelling, capitalization, grammar and punctuation in your posts. Otherwise your ideas are not communicated. Read the first three posts on this page of this thread. You make a point; "bigmilt" responds in kind (without attention to grammar or punctuation) and you respond to him. A third party (like me) finds it impossible to follow.

Again, I write because I respect your work and expertise and I do want to understand you. I also feel that your posts should reflect the quality of the work you have put into these products.
