enough in this thread to just make it a sticky. The trick about coexisting in avoid battle to cut the supply is great. Attrition is a key factor and often along the process of those repeated battles, the loser loses surrendering bdes which, being isolated, can't replace.
This means your big container can send a sub-container (a DIV for example) elsewhere while still keeping an enemy army pinned till the final defeat.

Such a situation happened to me in VA as Union. If the battle is won and the enemy has nowhere to retreat, all his troops surrender and that container is removed.

Wow i new none of this stuff,really hate the manual.This thread is great,,ok where do you find the ratings for each container.also how do some of you experts get arty for the south early in the game i find it hard to afoord anything but trouble from the yanks,and thats free.

container ratings are in the central box, by the bottom. They improve with experience and training coming from bigger containers and academies.

As of the arty, the south can't afford it so u can buy arty bde upgrades or u can try to capture enemy arty ...you can ultimately buy the second arty bde upgrade that converts the inf into arty next turn (giving it a 6 pd cannon) but this means its quality will be halved. I am playing with richer economy because i find it wrong that buying arty is so hard for CSA they had a few but they did have.
