I'm glad it looks the way you wanted it to. I figured you'd like it. [;)]
If we can conveivably import/export by team or even one player at a time, that would be huge.

This is an option (well, exporting by team is). In fact, this is the reason why it's taking me a little longer to get the exporting done tonight. I will probably have to wait until tomorrow night to get the update out.

After some additional scrutiny, I'm not sure the ratings at the first link I posted would be of much use - they are from the next-gen version of Madden and as such there are few common attribute fields between players of different positions.

I was able to locate an excel sheet of the Madden 07 roster from the PC, and attached a copy of it to this post (as a txt file, rename to .zip to open with Winzip or Winrar to view). Based upon the attributes in Madden, I think we can match up the attributes something along these lines in MaxFB:

MAX FB Ratings ---> Madden Ratings

SPEED ---> SPD
STRENGTH ---> STR
AGILITY ---> AGI
INTELLIGENCE ---> AWR
ENDURANCE ---> STA
DISCIPLINE ---> ?? **Could use AWR minus 10-15 PTS**
BLOCKING ---> AVG of PBK and RBK
BLOCK AVOIDANCE ---> BLOCKSHED
PASS STRENGTH ---> THP
PASS ACCURACY ---> THA
POCKET PASSER ---> ?? **Could use base of 100, then reduce by avg of SPD & AGI ratings**
CATCHING ---> CTH
HANDS ---> ?? **Could use CTH rating a 2nd time**
COVERAGE ---> AVG of MANCOVERAGE and ZONECOVERAGE
KICK STRENGTH ---> KPW
KICK ACCURACY ---> KPA

I'm going to go ahead and manually edit the players using the outline above for a few teams tomorrow and see how long it takes. VCFL Commish's NFL mdb file is already chock full of accurate data on the players so it really shouldn't be a big task to complete. If all goes well, maybe I can test the rosters in game and see if there are any ratings that may adversely affect gameplay. Those can later be globally tweaked with JD's editor if needed. Could be a good start for a completed NFL project at some point down the road, complete with team specific plays as simmer suggested above.

quixian, the HANDS attribute in MaxFB indicates how much a player is prone to fumbles. In Madden would that fall under CARRYING?

If "HANDS" means what you say it does, then yes, that is the same as "CARRYING" in Madden.

That's pretty much correct.

I wonder if a Mad-Max utility could be made to do this automatically ....

That is indeed correct as Marauders stated - I will be using the CAR attribute in Madden as the HANDS value in the merged mdb.

As for Discipline, I was planning on just using a set amount 10 pts less than the player's intelligence rating.

Also, I am going to use player stats and scouting reports to determine the Pocket Passer rating for each QB in the game. I don't think merely using other attributes to determine that rating would be a good idea - for example, while Donovan McNabb remains an athletic QB (despite injuries), he is more of a pocket passer at this point in his career than a scrambler. If I were to assign a pocket passer rating based off of his physical attributes for speed, agility, etc - it would have him abandoning the pocket with a frequency closer to that of Michael Vick.

At this point, I'm just looking at getting a baseline NFL db file going initially that we can share on FBMAX pretty shortly. I myself will probably go further with the initial file and update the rosters to match the current depth charts and make some tweaks here and there to player ratings to make the stats as accurate as possible.
