Two months... two months we've been at this! And still there's more ground to cover. Who would have thought that one country could be so big and yet so backward and poorly connected with proper transportation lines. Even the railroads are the wrong gauge and we have to change them all just to keep our supplies flowing.
We have also seen the appearance of new trained and better armed Soviet troops. They are still being use piecemeal so as yet are no real threat. Once they get organized however....
We are, however, still make good progress.
18th Army has taken Sheplevo and advanced on Lennigrad. Together with a detactment from 4th Panzer they attacked the suburbs three times but failed to dislodge the defenders. City fighting is very different from the wide open plains we've driven through so far.
The rest of 4th Panzer has captured Novgorod. Lead elements report the capture of Lt-Gen. Sobennikov commander of the Russian North West Fronts! This is a great feat as it should demoralize most of the troops we are facing.
The Fins make a probing attack to push some Russians away from their position and kepp them busy while we approach from the south.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"
