Is it as fallacious as I suspect that so many movies/shows show Henry VIII as a good looking and athletic guy?  I'm referencing mainly "The Tudors" and also "The Other Boleyn Girl" movie that just came out-  I was always under the impression that Henry was a gluttonous, fat tub of lard for most of his life, but am not Medieval history expert so might be wrong...

From memory, I think he started to supersize in his late thirties, early forties.

Well, about 15 minutes into the first episode, I'm getting the sense that the main subtext to the miniseries is, "It's good to be the king."
Michael Jordan plays ball. Charles Manson kills people. I torment eager potential customers by not sharing screenshots of "Brother Against Brother." Everyone has a talent.

Apparently he was very active for most of his life, played sport, chased women, ate well.

He had an accident that injured his leg late in life (stopping his active life style but not his appetite) and within a couple of years was dead.
"I've... seen things you people wouldn't believe...
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion...
I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate...
All those... moments will be lost... in time. Like... tears... in rain."

Having caught up on Season 1 back in March and finished with Season 2 two nights ago, I'd like to thank you all for the recommendation. It is definitely an excellent series, and is reasonably close to history (from what I can tell). The best part is how the series looks -- it does for Tudor England what HBO's "Rome" did for, well, Rome. (That said, I think that "Rome" was the better series because its writing, especially in terms of dialogue, was clearly superior. In "The Tudors," the dialogue is more than adequate, but not brilliant.)
