RE: 1926 Campaign goodboyladdie (A) vs Dixie (J)
CL New Orleans has disbanded at Manila. CL Albany and 6 DDs are off to Zamboanga to try to start sinking some Jap ships - the balance sheet is looking too good for the JFBs at the moment. The 3 4000 mile range PGs armed with 4 inch guns should arrive there this turn. (See screenie)
The remaining China Station DDs have disbanded at Shanghai with their sisters to have their ASW equipment fitted. Martin is using his subs aggressively, so I need to at least have a chance of hitting back...
SEAC HQ has started transport to Singapore.

RE: 1926 Campaign goodboyladdie (A) vs Dixie (J)
The 2nd shipment of 298th Rgt is unloading at Midway. Because of the extreme danger I have ordered that damaged ships be used to transport the rest from PH immediately. Pac Flt is now heading for Midway at top speed (4/4) and the Battlecruiser squadron and their escorts are going ahead due to their greater speed (6/6). This will leave them at Midway with little fuel, so a replenishment group is also being diverted. On the West Coast 80th EAB and VP-12 and VF-7 are loading onto damaged ships for Midway also.
The screenie below shows the three long range PGs which should hit the Japs off Zamboanga next turn. I have included it just to check the task force has not stalled. The CL Albany group is heading for Legaspi instead as a Jap force is off Southern Luzon heading West.

RE: 1926 Campaign goodboyladdie (A) vs Dixie (J)
The state of CL Albany after tangling with some heavy units is explained by the screenie below. 4 of her escorting DDs are back in Manila and I have disbanded to allow them to upgrade as Martin is being aggressive with his subs. Alabany is about 4 hexes from Manila. DD Stewart with damage 48/9/13 from the same battle is a couple of hexes out. DD Peary, with sys damage of 33, has sailed for Singapore by the Southern route. It is a risk as Martin has a sub on this route.
S-38 is moving to Legaspi as Martin seems to have pulled his ships away from Aparri after S-34 had such a wonderful bag from her patrol there.
Edit I forgot to mention Martin's forces were driven away from Legaspi. They will be back. I cannot remember if I have deployed a blocking force to Naga yet.

At Mare Island the 1st Midway convoy will sail this turn. A second convoy has started to load 144th FA Rgt. 20 damaged DDs arrived at Seattle to complete repairs. I really screwed up not catching that day 1 upgrade. It is really causing me problems with logistics.
My BC force should soon be off Midway. Pac Flt is not far behind.
The Suva guardship is on station. The ANZAC force has united at Brisbane and is heading for their war station at Rabaul.

RE: 1926 Campaign goodboyladdie (A) vs Dixie (J)
Looks like my Naga blocking moves are far too late. The Legaspi force looks to be landing there instead. I have nothing in place that can stand. I am withdrawing everything to Manila and the Bataan peninsula as I cannot afford to get my Clark forces held away from Manila due to the presence of Japs in the hex. It's too early, but as I cannot block him in the South (and last time moving too late cost me my 240mm Heavy guns), I do not feel I have much choice. Subs are diverting to Naga.
The Far East Fleet is already non existant. Asiatic Fleet is loading for Darwin. I cannot take them to Canton as China is not at war yet. 1/15th US Rgt has changed commands to SWPAC and will ship to China as soon as they are able. It may be that they deploy in defence of Manila instead. In truth, I can't remember what I was doing in this game as it has been so long... The Australian Government is welcoming US assistance in building harbours in the North to defend against a potentially aggressive Japanese Empire, but will not allow offensive moves by the US from Australian territory for fear of provoking an attack. The Chinese are loath to offer bases for the same reason. Political pressure (and a huge bribe) will soon remedy the Chinese reluctance, but Tsingtao is not seen as a safe base. Canton is preferred, but beggars cannot be choosers.
I am half tempted to move Pac Flt to Manila early...

RE: 1926 Campaign goodboyladdie (A) vs Dixie (J)
The first Midway convoy is away. The second should sail in a couple of days. Almost all of the US fleet and sealift is in the yards under repair. Next time I start a 1926 scenario I will be turning upgrades off for my transports!
3 S-boats arrived at PH and sailed to patrol off Kwajalein and Saipan.
I have neglected to show some of the ships that are available that differ from the other scenario. Here is a nice 16inch BB. The art from this one is Fremen's I think.

RE: 1926 Campaign goodboyladdie (A) vs Dixie (J)
The Jap DD torpedoed last turn sank.
Sparrow Force is unloading at Rabaul as the defences of the ANZAC forward base are beefed up (with the assistance of US engineers). DD Stewart (49 sys) left Manila for Sinagpore. She'll eventually be sent to Bombay to repair. The Royal Navy Far East Fleet arrived at their forward operating base, Singapore. I have yet to decide if I will move anything forward to Hong Kong.

Ninth Corps and Ninth Corps Hawaii
2 DDs completed upgrade at San Diego. They will sail to join the convoy taking 144th US FA Rgt to Midway. More S-boats at PH and sailed to patrol off Wake, Kwajalein, Saipan and Midway. CL Birmingham finally caught up with Pac Flt and joined the escort for USS Langley.
DEI/PI/Malaya
RN subs arrived at Singapore and deployed forward. L-1 will mine Hong Kong, L-2 will mine Brunei, the steam powered sub K-26 will patrol off Hong Kong, with the monitor M-1 North of her and the medium range L-16 to her South West. Any Japanese force approaching within 1 hex of Hong Kong will be engaged as the British Government seeks to show strength to her erstwhile oriental ally.

RE: 1926 Campaign goodboyladdie (A) vs Dixie (J)
In the Central Pacific, the Battle Cruiser Force of Pac Flt arrived at Midway. They need fuel and have picked up some sys damage.
I am contemplating bringing my bombers in lower in the PI. Currently the LBs are at 6000ft and the TBs 5000ft. I am thinking of trying 5000 and 4000 respectively. As the bombers in particular are increasing in experience quickly (50 against 43 for the TBs) I worry about risking them - replacements are so bad.
CA Huron (22 sys) disbanded in Singapore. S-30 is out of torpedoes and is returning to Manila, S-40 will move from Taichu to replace her at Takao.
12th Bn Royal Marines has been stopped at Canton to hold the approaches to Hong Kong, while the other reinforcements from Shanghai carry on to their destination.
